So, Chapter 7 of The Bridle Path is chugging along. Last night I finished the long and important conversation between Valiente and Rarity. I looked at it, felt good about it, leaned back in my chair and told the wife that it was done. Her response was, "Are you sure?"
I had to be up early this morning so I called it a night and went to bed. And as I lay there I could not get to sleep. Why? Because there was a pair of alabaster unicorns in my head nattering away! Those two would just not be quiet and let me sleep. Finally, around an hour later, I managed to ignore the byplay in my head and drop off. This morning, I'm up alone in the dark and cold outside doing some paying work. To keep my mind occupied I rewind the mental VCR (yes, I said VCR. I'm old dammit) and replay the byplay in my head.
And realized I hadn't written down at least two very important points in the conversation that I had wanted to establish. Fudge. Incoming re-write. At least it won't be a full re-write of the section.
Stories I've read. Nothing from the new crop has really jumped out at me so, I'm linking a old one I've liked My Best Friend, Stella. A tale of a stubborn human who finds a friend in a batpony mare who carries herself like a bared weapon.
Heh, you are lucky, I have a bit of trouble remembering dreams, and a lot of incidental little ideas. Use an app on my phone that can do voice-to-text and save any ideas I mumble into it at 4am, so I don't forget them.
Looking forward to hearing their conversation, because I am sure once I start reading, they will be in my head too.
