Author Interview: Harmony Pie! · 4:34am Sep 5th, 2016
Today's author interview: HarmonyPie
Fluff isn't usually my thing, but Harmony Pie's stories will cheer me up on the worst of days. She's easy to get along with, and is a very talented author at the astonishing age of 13! She also never seems to hesitate when it comes to helping others, and I honestly feel like we need more of that in the world!
What is your name? Do you go by that name as a writer?
My name is Leah. I go by Harmony Pie on here!
What do you do when you’re not writing?
I like to read, and watch tv, and play with my friends. Normal stuff, I guess. :3
When did you start writing?
I think I started writing around 6, or something. Wrote a story about my stuffed animal that I no longer have, of course, that's silly
Between poetry and long-form writing, what do you prefer? Why?
I prefer long-form writing because I feel like I can express more, and actually have a character.
What are you currently working on? How did you begin working on it?
I am currently working on a sad Raritwi one shot that I'm pretty excited about. I came up with this while I was lying awake, staring at the ceiling.
What is your favorite part of writing any of your stories?
My favorite part is the dialogue. I get to explain the character's words and feelings.
If you had to give readers a list of reasons/details about why they should read your stories, what would it be?
Hmm. I'm not actually that proud of my work on this site, but I suppose many people like it for the cute stuff. You can never have enough pone snuggles!
What inspires your writing?
Everything. The show, my life, what I think. And, of course, my desire to hug a fluffy small horse.
What’s your favorite part about writing a novel?
I haven't actually written a full novel/ book, although I did start one a while ago that wasn't pony related. My favorite part is to build a whole new world.
Give us insight to your main character. Who is he or she? What is his or her purpose? What does your character mean to you?
I don't really have a main character. I write about many ponies. They're all special and amazing and different. Oh, and I have an OC, though.
What/who are your favorite or most reliable support groups?
Are you talking about groups on Fimfic? I enjoy Equestrian Writer's Guild... or something like that. It's a fun group.
What is the biggest mistake you think you make while writing? How do you overcome it?
My biggest problem was with perspective, but I'm learning to be better at it with the help of another awesome author.
Where are you from?
I am from Massachusetts.
Which authors inspire you?
Wow, there's so many! Swan Song, Shortskirts, Monochromatic, etc....
What genre do you enjoy most, and what draws you to the genre you write?
I really like dark/gore, and romance. It's so outside of what the show has. But I'm better at writing slice of life.
Are you reading any books right now? If so, what are you reading?
I'm almost done with The Fault In Our Stars. It's for summer reading.
When do you usually write? How often? Do you have a word goal or page goal when you write?
When I feel motivated. I usually aspire to about 2,000, but that's if I can reach it.
What advice would you give your younger self?
To my 5 year old self: "Be adorable."
To my 10-year-old self; "Be happy."
And to myself 8 weeks ago:"Return Dark Chocolate's interview sooner."
How can readers and fellow writers discover more about you and your work?
Mwap. My homepage. That's it, really. Also *hugs* You all are awesome!
4192851 Yeah she had this adorable story about Rarijack, was an awesome story lol
Best fluff author, no question.
4192921 Yeah I think so
Another interview to read. I was looking for something to do for the next 15 seconds.

Adorable profile pic!
4194539 What's funny is that I'm like "cute profile pic!" *Compares to own, dark, profile pic* oh the irony.
