The Cancellation Row: The Doom Patrol: A Midwinter's Nightmare · 5:24am Sep 1st, 2016
An another one bites to dust. This time is The Doom Patrol: A Midwinter's Nightmare
What was I thinking?
You know, it's been harder to remember it, thus why I couldn't get myself to continue, but I think I got it: I wanted to create an adventure. But I also wanted to write about something I knew from close: Feeling rejected.
Come on, 99% of this fandom knows that feeling. That's what I meant by taking The Doom Patrol and why I started with the CMC. I wanted to recreate that moment in our lives when everything seems to be turning for the worst, but at the same time I wanted to show that there's always hope. However, I got ambitious. The original story The Doom Patrol is already finished, and by all accounts, I accomplished what I wanted with it.
All in all, A Midwinter's Nightmare was a mistake from the beginning since I was forcing something that was already over to go on.
I'm really sorry and I deeply apologize to all the readers that wanted their story to have a proper ending.
Ironically, it ended up being half the precursor my current opus magnum: Actually, I'm Dead. So, if you guys actually enjoyed what I was trying to pull off with The Doom Patrol, then you should totally check Actually, I'm Dead out, since it's a very improved spiritual successor.
Now, I still have the sketchbook were I wrote down the future chapters and major arcs. If anyone is interested in taking over writing duties, just comment bellow and I will send you the sketchbook for you to have a north on where was the story going. If nobody asks for it, I will just publish the sketchbook as a final chapter, officially mark the story as cancelled and let it rest in peace.
