Summer Serenade: Photograph · 2:25am Aug 28th, 2016
Hey, everyone!
Another quick update on my computer. After running multiple scans on it today, it kept coming up as clean. I'll keep an eye on it for the next week or so, and then I'll see where it stands.
But as for the blog title, I found a cicada near a food truck the other day, and picked it up to move it to a safer place. I love cicadas, and I love hearing them in the summertime. When it was safe, I snapped a photo of it and touched the colors up a bit using PicMonkey. This is the result.
After doing some research, I am pretty sure that it is a Tibicen auletes cicada, also known as a Northern Dusk-Singing Cicada. I also posted it to my DeviantArt gallery.
That's it! I liked the photo, so I felt like sharing. I also do like taking photos, but I don't do it as much as I used to.
What a hideous -- I mean beautiful creature! I hope it sounds
better thanas good as it looks!Really though, I like this picture. Especially the streaks of green in the Cicada's wings and how they almost match the color of the leaves.

I quite like most insects/bugs myself, so to me, it's a cutie. But I totally understand that some may not be quite so enamored. They actually do sound quite pleasant! They make nice chirping sounds.
And thank you! It actually took the picture touch-up for me to notice the green in its wings, but it's quite a lovely shade!

Thank you, my friend!
Yeah, it was interesting. I saw it crawling on the ground, and had to get a closer look. And when I saw what it was, I had to move it to a safer spot. And it just crawled up the tree, which was good.
I hope you can get a close look at one someday, too!
Good to hear your computer is clean bard
Curious, the cicadas you hear, are they the ones that make several rhythmic chirps, or hums or whatever you'd call it. or are they the ones that make one long continuous noise.

That makes sense. Still, I hope you get the chance to. They're lovely.

Thank you, Final.
And for me, it's a bit of both. I hear the droning kinds during the day, and I'll hear the chirping ones in the evening.

Your very welcome Bard
Interesting, I thought cicadas only made their noises in the nighttime.

It depends on the type of cicada, I think.

Huh, never knew that.

To be honest, I'm mostly going by what I've heard during the day and evening, and what I've seen in Animal Crossing: New Leaf.
