"Dungeons and Discords"- Mini Review · 5:42pm Aug 27th, 2016
Oh gosh, I couldn't stop laughing.
(Potential Spoilers Ahead!) 
The episode... just... 
Okay, so here we go. The mane 6 are going to visit Yakyakistan, and Discord is left alone in Ponyville. (Heck knows what he was doing in the rest of Season 6, but... it's Discord. Maybe he was chilling with the Smooze or something.) Fluttershy suggests that he hang out with Spike and Big Mac, and though he doesn't really want to, he ultimately agrees. The guys' night, however, turns out to be fantasy role-playing, and Discord surely doesn't like the idea of this. However, after a whole bunch of Discord shenanigans, he ends up liking it, and him, Spike, and Big Mac have tons of fun playing Ogres and Oubliettes.
I liked this episode for a bunch of reasons: It was absolutely hilarious (as most Discord episodes are), it actually provided some more character depth for Discord, there were a few more "What the heck, how did that make it into the script?" moments, and overall, the plot was actually pretty cool.
So... the humor. Oh gosh, It was hard to stop laughing in this one. From just how nerdy Spike and Big Mac were throughout the most of the episode, to just pretty much whatever Discord did, I was laughing. Also, WHAT IS WITH DISCORD AND ORANGE SUITS? He has a second one now? I think he needs some help from Rarity.
Also, I thought that there was some nice character development. I mean, it was shown that Discord is awkward as heck in social situations, but acts overly confident in everything else. He feels awkward around anyone that's not a part of the mane 6 or the princesses. (Speaking of which-- Wow, there was a lot of shipping fuel. And when he made his face resemble Celestia... that was kind of terrifying. ) I was a fan of "Make New Friends But Keep Discord," and I think that's one of the reasons. He's so flamboyant in everything... except when it comes to normally interacting with ponies/ dragons. Also, I still love how even though he's "reformed" that doesn't mean that he's going to stop calling himself the Master of Chaos or he's not going to blow up occasionally and show his more... evil side. I think this is part of the reason why he's practically my favorite character: he never fails to make me laugh, but he's also kind of surprisingly deep sometimes.
There was a few moments where I was sort of like, "Woah..." Just... Take a look at this.
WHAT? He's petting Celestia's mane... tail... creature... like a cat?
And I guess he wants all of his friends to die?
And then... this. I just have no words for this. 
Oh... this was an interesting episode indeed.
Lastly, the plot was strange, but kind of nice. It was certainly very different from the normal sort of MLP plot, and the total ridiculousness of it made it great, too.
Even though it looks like this'll be the only Discord episode in Season 6, I'm sure glad it was a good one. I can't wait to look at all of the nerdy Discord fanfics that pop up this afternoon and evening. I know this one is longer than my usuals, but come on! It's a Discord episode!
In other news, thank you so much for getting "The Waiting Room," a story I wrote last night, into the Popular Stories box! This day has been pretty darn great.
