Since so many people keep asking about the Unicorn ships I started sketching one out in photoshop for you all.
Here's a sketched WIP. I might take this to a full render at a later date (once I fix the glaring inconsistencies in layout and perspective).
UCC ships feature strong shields and magic. Most warships forgo conventional weaponry in favor of magic amplifiers which their crew use for combat. Pictured above is a Magus class cruiser.
Unicorn aesthetic is typically grace and glam. Their ships can be ornate, with little bells and whistles added to the hull more for looks than practical application. This is especially true of ships owned by members of aristocracy, who do their best to outdo each other in how garish their ships are designed. One example would be the use of gold script embossed on a the hull in a pleasing pattern or use of precious materials in construction, on the flip side this also makes them particularly valuable targets for pirates. Because unicorn ships use magic circles, they tend to appear bulbous. This ship in particular has two observation decks, a lower one where the captain, comms, and pilot sit, and an upper deck for the war mages. While formidable in solo, unicorn warships work best in tandem, able to combine their magic potential for exponentially more powerful attacks. This has a limit, however as one of the ships must still direct the attack, and too much power can overwhelm the systems and/or fry the mages casting it. Six is usually the maximum, both for traditional and practical reasons.
Cool! Will you show design s for thr PBJ and epr as well?
4172632 There's only so much of me to go around! xD While it's a nice distraction, working on stuff like this does take away from working on the actual story.
