Depressing

This site is like ded. Like it was such a large part of my early teenager-dom, and I've come back to, after catching up, a mostly dead site.
I mean yea, lotta people still on but none of the huge, 2k likes stories are being written anymore. Not much good writing left. I'm just... I dunno, I was hoping I could just go back to this site as it was, a huge flourishing thing.
Unfortunately, fandoms die, and shrink, and time goes on. Now I know what a mid-life crisis feels like, and I didn't even have to wait another 20-ish years.

The site isn't dead, and it's certainly not devoid of good fics. You just have to look in the right places, eh? There may not be as many people running around, but I'd have to say those that are left are a bit more dedicated. I wouldn't consider the feature box as a place to find a well written fic, just ones that people have found popular. Having upvotes in the hundreds or even thousands doesn't necessarily mean it's well written. That's not to say that there aren't excellent stories that do have those kind of ratings.

I follow a few reviewers, like Titty D, Present Perfect, and Paul Asaran. I also follow review groups like Seattle's AngelsThey write up review blogs, and if they mention details in a story that interest me, I'll have a look. Like, to even get a review from these guys, the standards are somewhat high, especially from Titty D. Like all, anything they review, whether they ultimately recommend or not recommend, has some merit.

As for finding other works that are of your specific interest (especially clop ), try joining more groups. Like, if you have an interest in specific characters, Like Maud or Cheese Sandwich, try finding groups pertaining to them. Active ones will have stories being constantly added.
