28 Pranks Later, various thoughts · 5:10pm Aug 13th, 2016

Well, this is an interesting episode. I feel that the premise is a tad arbitrary— much like last week's episode, this is a lesson that Rainbow should already have long learnt. But in spite of that, the imagery is just so good. Holy crud, even when knowing the gist of the plot it was actually pretty exciting. So, as usual, have some thoughts!

—I think this is the first time where the ponies' acting when trying to trick someone is actually convincing. Drama level up!
—I'm going to assume telekinesis needs to be based on sight, since Rarity didn't think she could magic the outfit down at a safe distance from whatever booby trap there could have been. Otherwise, that makes no sense, because Rarity is proven to be an above-average unicorn with a degree of finesse and control over her magic most don't achieve. If she actually trained she'd most likely be near Twilight's caliber, even without her natural affinity toward magic.
—As said, this lesson, not to lose your head and be an insensitive prick was already learnt as late as in the Mare-Do Well episode. And if anything, Scare Master should have made it abundantly clear being scared isn't everypony's cup of tea, nor do they necessarily appreciate being caused inconvenience in the spirit of "good fun". You'll have to know when it's appropriate, and when to stop. I'm not a fan of character regression, where a character already knows better, and has overcome one flaw, only to inexplicably repeat it. I know Rainbow sometimes can be a bit hard-headed, but I kinda thought she was past the point where words didn't matter and somepony needed to demonstrate why she isn't doing something that's fine. The karma's sweet, though.:3
—I thought that both Rainbow's pranks, (infuriating as they were) and the reactions of the ponies subjected to them was pretty intelligent. Rarity immediately suspecting foul play with the cake. And the real prank certainly shows a knack for manipulation in Rainbow. See, anypony can learn to be clever!
—Judging by how Rarity read Rainbow's note, I imagine the latter's hoofwriting has not improved a lot.
—And again with the unexplained absence of Starlight, darn it. Hope that's rectified lickety-split.
—I'm going to assume Pinkie has her times where her ADHD acts up more than usual, considering how much she had to struggle to keep on topic during her talk with Rainbow.
—Also, we get to hear more vocal range, courtesy of cookie zombies.

I think Rarity thought maybe removing the dress from the mannequin or removing the pole connecting the mannequin from the cake would trigger the prank. And that's why instead of taking a chance she just started to make a new one. If RD can get Applejack outside then there is no doubt she could have made a cake bomb to ruin all the dresses or something.

Liked it, was funny. It will provide taste memes, etc.

Well, then she could have removed all things that could be stained, then retreat to a safe distance, consider putting up a shield, and then lower the outfit. Much is possible with a bit of imagination.:derpytongue2: I like it for the fun times and the sheer concept of making someone believe they caused a zombie outbreak. It's cruel, but interesting to see in Equestria.:3

A nice score here, with some great horror.
