Plans for August, or: Where's them bonus chapters ya promised, Cracker?! · 12:51pm Aug 2nd, 2016
Hey, all. As you may be aware, I'm taking part in Megapone's little event. I have just submitted my entry, it should be up on the site shortly.
Now, I feel the need to point out: no, I will not be doing a sequel to this entry, nor will I be working it into a series. I wrote it for signal boosting, to practise a few skills (mostly descriptions), and to test some other things I wasn't aware I was lacking in (I have a really hard time getting in character details naturally, turns out). I do not support the things that happen in this story, nor do I condemn people who write about such things. I just don't see the big deal. I mean, most kid's shows display far worse abuses, and Japanese shows get away with stuff that makes even me cringe in sympathy.
So yes, this story took up a lot of my time, yes, a lot of it has been rushed and delayed because of some technical difficulties I still don't know the full details of, but no, the bonus chapters I promised are not cancelled.
I have the makings of a first draft, the bonus Thundersteel chapter should be up at the latest by next Saturday, at the earliest this Saturday. The same goes for the Batty Not-Wedding one.
I have not made my schedule for August yet, seeing as July was kind of a mess, but, as Sokka so famously put it: "The new plan is the old plan." First publish the bonus chapters, then finish and publish Warrior Meet, the Flight Camp Sequel. In between, edit the original novel so it sucks marginally less... if such a feat is possible with this first draft. That, and do at least one very rough animation with my Synfig set-up. I think I've worked out the last of the major problems, with the exception of hugging. I still don't know how I'm going to get anything in between the legs of my characters. And I still need to design Bastion, as well as all the novel characters. So I've got my worked cut out for me, still.
Speaking of work, no news on the job front yet. So yay, more time for writing, neigh, still no disposable income.
Keeping you postal posted.
Cracker out.
