Today is Lauren Faust's birthday, she is the talented woman who's dream of making a show for girls that could be acceptable to all ages led to the creation of the show we now know and love today. Though she has not been involved with the show since the end of Season 2, she has remained a powerful force in the world of Western Animation.

Lauren herself has penned a few episodes for various cartoons, including ones created by her husband ("The Powerpuff Girls", "Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends", and "Wander Over Yander"). One of their most recent contributions was the "DC Super Heroes" shorts starring Wonder Girl, Bat Girl, and Super Girl.

Happy birthday, Lauren. I think you'd be very impressed by what's become of the show you started and left behind. It seems to have (alongside "Adventure Time") sparked a renissance for Western Animation in the 2010's.
