The Wandering Bard

"I am a singer, a poet, a musician, a storyteller. I am a bard at heart. That is who I am. That is what I shall always be." (Icon by atokota on FurAffinity)

    Some OC Questions

Hey, all! This is a meme by gilgamemesh I've seen around Tumblr, and since I haven't gotten any asks about it there, I thought I'd post it here! Here's how it works: pick a number or multiple numbers from the list, post it/them in the comments, and in about a week or so (depending on how many asks I get), I'll post a follow-up blog about it! And if two people ask about the same number, that's

BronyCon: Saturday · 3:26pm Jul 24th, 2016

Hello, my friends! I am here to continue regaling you with my adventures in Baltimare!

Well, Saturday was full of more linecon. :rainbowlaugh: I got up early, got into my cosplay, and left for the autograph hall. After waiting in Ashleigh's line for a while, it did not appear to be moving, so I hopped into Tara's line. After a long wait, I finally got to meet her! We chatted for a few minutes, mostly just saying hi, me introducing myself, and her making comments about the poster at the table I'd asked her to sign. She was very nice, and very pleasant to talk to. After that, I had thoughts of getting into Tabitha's line, but the line was long, and I would not have gotten there before the panel taking place that afternoon that I wanted to go to. Instead, I opted to get some food and rest a bit, and then headed to the panel.

At the panel, many of this year's guests were at the table, including Tara, Tabitha, Ashleigh, Andrea, BlackGryph0n, and Michelle Creber. (I know there were more, but I cannot remember exactly who else was there.) They all read a funny and sweet script that Tabitha had created about Luna chipping a tooth and needing to see a dentist, but refusing to do so since princesses had to be perfect all the time. And, of course, this also happened when Luna was supposed to be giving the girls and Spike dreaming lessons. So whenever the girls noticed Luna's tooth, she would put them to sleep, and hilarity would ensue. Of course, this was all done in the voices of the characters, and BlackGryph0n got to improvise the tune to a song. It was all so awesome, and I am so glad that I went as it's rare for all of the Mane 6 voice actresses to be at one con.

After that, it was back to the vendor hall for a bit before trying to get another autograph. However, my very special somepony and I were stuck in an overflow line for Ashleigh's autograph, and the line was not moving at all. I headed over to Tabitha's line to try and at least get hers. It took a long time to get close. Just when it looked like I would have missed out on the chance (Tabitha had to be at a panel, which I completely understand), she ran around the line, apologizing in Rarity's voice, and said that she would extend her autograph time as much as possible and would try to speed things up. I got a good chuckle out of this, and told her, "You're awesome, Tabitha!"

"Thank you, sweetie!" She actually responded!

So, thanks to her kindness, I was indeed able to get her autograph, and a picture with her! She and the person taking the autograph vouchers and pictures were both just so nice. She was super bubbly, and the guy with her took so many photos. Tabitha absolutely loved my green hair and was fawning over it in, which was caught in one of the photos together. It's my favorite one of us.

After that, I met up with my very special somepony, who had successfully managed to get Ashleigh's autograph. From there, it was back to the room for a little bit, then we headed to see Blackgryph0n, Baasik, Michelle Creber, and one more person whose name I sadly cannot recall at this moment, perform at BronyPalooza. This is where Lyric going to a rave comes in. :rainbowlaugh: My very special somepony and I were planning on heading to the Grand Galloping Gala after the show, and it would have made no sense for me to change out of my cosplay for a little over an hour, only to get back into it for a little while, to then change out of it once more. So, I went to the show in my cosplay. And while I enjoyed the music immensely, it also got me thinking about what would happen should Lyric attend one of Vinyl Scratch's performances. It certainly would not be her choice of music, though she would not begrudge it. By the end of the show, I was laughing and dancing and having such a good time, and I realized that the same thing would happen for Lyric in the scenario mentioned. And so, I now want to create a raver Lyric cosplay for next year's BronyPalooza (no lie) that I can wear and rock out in. Good thing I have a year to do it, because this will take planning.

Next, it was indeed time to head to the Gala, and the skit this year was quite adorable. Derpy had sent out the Gala invitations with the wrong date, and Twilight was freaked out since the attendees were there a day early. The Doctor, with his little blue box (yes, it was small in this skit), and Derpy in tow, arrived at the Gala with the intent of transporting everyone to the correct date so that everything would be set up and in place. Of course, Discord came along and had to mess with things, sending Derpy and the Doctor on a quest to retrieve their friends from across different decades before they forgot who they really were. Twilight and Rarity ended up performing in a USO show in the 40s, and Pinkie Pie performed a dance to the song "Lollipop" in the 50s. In between the acts, there was some dancing, but after Pinkie's act, it turned into a couples dance competition, so my very special somepony, the friends we had met up with, and myself left the Gala. I changed out of my cosplay and spent time with my friends while my very special somepony went off to some art panels with a friend of ours. After that, it was time for us to head back to BronyPalooza, where my very special somepony and our friend met up with us, and so we rocked out for the rest of the night. Oh, and I met up with Discord girl and her friends at least five more times that day.

I hope you've enjoyed this recollection, my friends! Just one more to go.

Cheers!

Awesome! Glad to hear you had so much fun at line con day 2 bestie XD. And the show sounds fun, sorry I missed it, ah well maybe next year X3.

XD Thanks, bestie! Yeah, I did meet some nice people in line, just wish I'd gotten info or something to stay in touch. And I hope you can make it to the shows next year! They're a lot of fun. X3

Sounds like had a blast.

Also, when you said you felt Lyric would have done the same thing, when someone puts as much heart into a character as you did a piece of them goes into them. You and Lyric are no acception

4112894
It was definitely a blast!

And you are absolutely right. When I first created Lyric, I tried to separate her from me as much as possible, to give her a life of her own. And while I have done that, some parts of me have still snuck into her. However, I do not think this is a bad thing. As writers, we are told to write what we know, so I think it just helps her to be more alive in some ways.

4113703
That's great bard!

And it's far from a bad thing. It shows hard work paying of, it shows your creation flourishing

4113874
Thank you, Final!

And you know what? I never thought of it that way before, but you're absolutely right. I always thought of it as you know creations are flourishing when they take on lives of their own.

4113896

Your very welcome my friend

They will of course have their own lives. But as they say, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Even if it does go far, there will still be a part of you in it :raritystarry:

4113920
Very true. Though now I have to wonder what parts of me are in my most villanous OC. :rainbowlaugh:

4114047

Oooo. I haven't seen you dastardly side before Bard :rainbowwild:

4114076
:twilightsheepish: Yeah, this OC is completely unrelated to MLP, so she's never been able to make a debut here. And for years I've been entertaining the thought of writing the story she's a part of down, but Lyric and her tales are where my heart is at the moment.

4114149

I may like to see that OC some day, but as long as Lyric has tales I will eagerly await them

4114213
Thank you, my friend. If you'd like, I can send you a PM about this OC of mine.
