Judging by the comments, I don't think people are really getting Twilight for President. I thought I was pretty heavy handed, but I can't necessarily blame them -- I did seriously spend about three hours on that thing including revisions. My crudest clop story is more carefully crafted. I wanted to be topical, but I think that might've been a mistake? I don't regret the exposure, but I'm not sure I really communicated.
Anyway, I was listening to this KMFDM song from just after the 2008 election, and thinking about how it still applies today:
Politicians are not your friends. Look out for each other.
I hope I understood the message you were trying to convey: We are should be better at taking care of each other. The big things will take care of themselves. Being kind and understanding is the beginning of learning to get along together. And most importantly:
Friendship is Magic.
It might not fix everything but it sure does make every situation a whole lot better.
I hope I'm on the right track, anyway.
