Upcoming Alterations

Just a little heads-up to those following Legacies: the next chapter will herald what I'm pretty sure is the halfway point. As such, I'm taking this as a good time to conduct my first revision of the story up to this point. There shouldn't be any sort of sweeping changes or anything like that. Most of it will be fixing spelling and grammar errors that I've noticed that slipped through my initial proof-read. I'm sure I'll manage to still miss quite a few this time as well, but whatever...

I am also going to be consolidating chapters during this time. Some of them feel too much like excerpts rather than real chapters, and so I'm going to fix that by merging them with their neighbors and/or expanding them as necessary to make them feel more complete and relevant to the overall story. So, expect to see some chapter name's getting altered and chapters 'disappearing' as they get absorbed by one another. Once again, nothing is really changing as far as plot elements; so don't feel compelled to reread anything. If I end up adding anything that's very new to the story (unlikely) I'll make another post that calls out those chapters.

I'm getting everything together offline so that I can just basically cut and paste everything in one sweeping edit so that chapters aren't left bouncing around over the course of a couple months. Ideally, you'll just show up one day and everything will be done and over with and the story can continue as usual.

I can't put an exact date on when this will happen, but I'm shooting for the first half of August. About the time I post the next chapter.

It needs to be done, I'm afraid, if I'm to be satisfied with this piece. Fear not about delays! Truth be told, I am about 3 chapters ahead where the writing is concerned. I'm holding off on batch uploads so that I can maintain a consistent posting rate. I should be able to maintain two chapters a months for the foreseeable future.
