LSP-2143 BABS SEED L S P 2 1 4 3 · 6:57pm Jul 2nd, 2016

Here's your introduction to one of the finest singers to debut in Equestria today: Babs Seed.

Some time ago, a Canterlot executive was listening to a song by the Manehattan Elementary School Choir ("A Lovely Way To Spend An Evening") and spotted a great talent in one of its members, Barbara Anne Seminsky. Better known as Babs Seed, her warm, beautiful vocals and great lyrical delivery delighted him and she was promptly signed to RCA Victor. Knowing of her great talent as a singer, Babs' first recording for us, ''I Would Like To Be Your Mare'' was penned for her by one of her friends, Sweetie Belle, who admires Babs dearly. Babs adds 11 more songs to that fine performance, cementing her own newly-given status as one of the best singers of an industry her hometown is proud to invest in.

Here she is, BABS SEED, who gives all these songs her trademark excellence in voice as well as wit.

1---I WOULD LIKE TO BE YOUR MARE (Sweetie Belle)

I would like to be your lady
I would like to be your gal
I would like to be anything
Not just your pal

I would do anything to keep this love of yours
Flowing through you and flowing through me
Dear, I want your love to stay with me throughout the years
And I want you to be mine eternally

So if you say "I do" to me, I'll say "I do" to you
There could be nothing wrong with you being one plus me being two

I tenderly will call your name every day
And you'll want to love me whenever I say:

"I would like to be your mare
I would like to be your gal
I would like to be anything
Not just your pal

I would do anything to keep this love of yours
Flowing through you and flowing through me
Dear, I want your love to stay with me throughout the years
And I want you to be mine eternally."

When my heart and our heart decide to combine
Every day will feel just like a valentine

Our love will never die, it's only beginning
These are the words that through song I'm saying:

"I would like to be your mare
I would like to be your gal
I would like to be anything
Not just your pal

I would do anything to keep this love of yours
Flowing through you and flowing through me
Dear, I want your love to stay with me throughout the years
And I want you to be mine eternally"

2---VOLARE (Modugno--Migliacci--Parish)

Volare, oh, oh!
Cantare, oh, oh, oh, oh!
No wonder my happy heart sings!
Your love has given me wings!

Sometimes the world is a valley of heartaches and tears,
And in the hustle and bustle, no sunshine appears,
But you and I have our love always there to remind us
There is a way we can leave all the shadows behind us.

Volare, oh, oh!
Cantare, oh, oh, oh, oh!
Let's fly way up in the clouds
Away from the maddening crowds
We can sing in the glow of a star that I know of
Where lovers enjoy peace of mind
Let us leave the confusion and all disillusion behind
Just like birds of a feather, a rainbow together we'll find

Volare, oh, oh!
Cantare, oh, oh, oh, oh!
No wonder my happy heart sings
Your love has given me wings
Your love has given me wings
Your love has given me wings

3---I'LL NEVER SMILE AGAIN (Ruth Lowe)

I'll never smile again until I smile at you
I'll never laugh again!
What good would it do?

For tears would fill my eyes
My heart would realize
That our romance is true

I'll never love again
I'm so in love with you
I'll never thrill again to somebody new

Within my heart, I know I will never start to smile again until I smile at you.

(I'll never love again
I'm so in love with you
I'll never thrill again to somebody new)

Within my heart, I know I will never start to smile again until I smile at you!

4---I ONLY HAVE EYES FOR YOU (Harry Warren--Al Dubin)

Are the stars out tonight?
I don't know if it's cloudy or bright
I only have eyes for you, dear.

The moon may be high
But I can't see a thing in the sky
I only have eyes for you
I don't know if we're in a garden
Or on a crowded avenue

You are here and so am I,
And maybe millions of people go by
but they all disappear from view
and I only have eyes for you!

5---PICK YOURSELF UP (Jerome Kern--Dorothy Fields)

Nothings impossible I have found
For when my chin is on the ground
I pick myself up, dust myself off, and I start all over again

Don't lose your confidence if you slip
Be grateful for a pleasant trip
And pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start all over again

Work like a soul inspired till the battle of the day is won
You may be sick and tired but you'll be a man my son!

Don't you remember the famous man
who had to fall to rise again?
They picked themselves up, dust themselves off and started all over again!

(instrumental)

Work like a soul inspired till the battle of the day is won
You may be sick and tired but you'll be a man my son!

Don't you remember the famous man
who had to fall to rise again?
They picked themselves up, dust themselves off and started all over again!

6---HITHER, THITHER AND YON (Aaron Schroeder--Wally Gold)

Oh, hither and thither and yon
Around the world I've gone
Searching for true love
As so many do
Hither and thither and yon

From Cairo to far off Calay
I traveled on and on
Seeking that someone
Who's heart wouldn't stray
Hither and thither and yon

Alas, I wondered
Through many a land
Too blind was I to see
True love was always close at hand
As close as you were to me

My journey is over
It's good to be home
Your face, I gaze upon
And darling, I wonder
Oh, why did I roam
Hither and thither and yon

Hither and thither and yon
Hither and thither and yon!

1---I GOT YOU UNDER MY SKIN (Cole Porter)

I've got you under my skin
I've got you deep in the heart of me
So deep in my heart, that you're really a part of me
I've got you under my skin

I've tried so not to give in
I've said to myself this affair never will go so well
But why should I try to resist, when baby will I know so well
That I've got you under my skin

I'd sacrifice anything come what might
For the sake of having you near
In spite of a warning voice that comes in the night
And repeats, repeats in my ear

Don't you know you fool, you never can win
Use your mentality, wake up to reality
But each time I do, just the thought of you
Makes me stop before I begin
'Cause I've got you under my skin.

I've got you under my skin
I've got you deep in the heart of me
So deep in my heart, that you're really a part of me
I've got you under my skin

I've tried so not to give in
I've said to myself this affair never will go so well
But why should I try to resist, when baby will I know so well
That I've got you under my skin!

2---a. IN THE STILL OF THE NIGHT (Cole Porter)
b. IN THE STILL OF THE NIGHT (Fred Parris)

In the still of the night
As I gaze from my window
At the Moon in its flight
My thoughts all stray to you

In the still of the night
While the world is in slumber
Oh, the times without number
Darling, when I say to you

Do you love me as I love you
Are you my life to be, my dream come true?
Or will this dream of mine fade out of sight
Like the Moon growing dim on the rim of the hill
In the chill, still of the night?

(song transitions)

In the still of the night
I held you, held you tight
Cause I love, love you so
Promise I'll never let you go
In the still of the night

I remember that night in May
The stars were bright above
I'll hope and I'll pray
To keep your precious love
Well before the light
Hold me again with all of your might
In the still of the night

So before the light
Hold me again with all of your might
In the still of the night
In the still of the night!

3---RED SAILS IN THE SUNSET (Jimmy Kennedy--Hugh Williamson)

Red sails in the sunset
'Way out on the sea
Oh! carry my loved one
Home safely to me.

He sailed at the dawning
All day I've been blue
Red sails in the sunset
I'm trusting in you

Swift wings you must borrow
Make straight for the shore
We marry tomorrow
And he goes sailing no more.

Red sails in the sunset
'Way out on the sea
Oh! carry my loved one
Home safely to me.

(Red sails in the sunset
'Way out on the sea
Oh! carry my loved one
Home safely to me.

He sailed at the dawning
All day I've been blue
Red sails in the sunset
I'm trusting in you)

Swift wings you must borrow
Make straight for the shore
We marry tomorrow
And he goes sailing no more.

Red sails in the sunset
'Way out on the sea
Oh! carry my loved one
Home safely to me.

4---LOVE MAKES THE WORLD GO 'ROUND (Ollie Jones)

There’s been a lot of talk about the game of love,
It’s what everybody, everywhere, is thinking of!
The love bug’s busy as he can be,
And I gotta a funny feeling that he just bit me!

‘Cause love makes the world go ‘round and around.
Love makes the world go ‘round!
Your pulse will beat and your heart will pound,
‘Cause love makes the world go ‘round!

I met a little guy about four feet small,
Who fell in love with Annie who was eight feet tall!
Every time I see ‘em comin’ down the street,
I know true love just can’t be beat!

‘Cause love makes the world go ‘round and around.
Love makes the world go ‘round!
Your pulse will beat and your heart will pound,
‘Cause love makes the world go ‘round!

A goose got loose at the county fair,
They looked high and low but she wasn’t there!
Up jumped a gander who said leave her alone,
When she misses old Dad, she’ll come back home!

‘Cause love makes the world go ‘round and around.
Love makes the world go ‘round!
Your pulse will beat and your heart will pound,
‘Cause love makes the world go ‘round!

No matter what you do or where you go,
You get kinda lonely when the lights are low!
Everybody’s gotta have a love that’s true,
And I just gotta have you, you, you!

‘Cause love makes the world go ‘round and around.
Love makes the world go ‘round!
Your pulse will beat and your heart will pound,
‘Cause love makes the world go . . .
Love makes the world go . . .
Love makes the world go round!

5---I WENT TO A MARVELLOUS PARTY (Noel Coward)

Quite for no reason
I'm here for the season,
And high as a kite!
Ha-ha-ha-ha!
Living in error
With Maude at Castella,
Which couldn't be right!

Everyone's here, frightfully gay,
Nobody cares what people say,
Though the Riviera
Semms really much queerer
Than Rome at it's height!
Yesterday night;

I went to a marvellous party
With Nunu and Nada and Nell.
It was in the fresh air
And we went as we were,
And we stayed as we were,
Which was hell!

Poor Grace started singing at midnight,
And she didn't stop singing till four!
We knew the excitement was bound to begin
When Laura got blind on Dubonnet and gin,
And scratched a veneer with a Cartier pin!
Ha-ha-ha-ha!
I couldn't have liked it more!

I went to a marvellous party,
I must say the fun was intense!
we all had to do
What the people we knew
Would be doing a hundred years hence!

Dear Cecil arrived wearing armour,
Some shells and a black feather boa.
Poor Millicent wore a surrealist comb,
Made of bits of mosaic from Saint Peters in Rome,
But the weight was so great she had to go home!
Ha-ha-ha-ha!
I couldn't have liked it more!

Peter's behaviour,
Away from Belgravia,
Would make you aghast!
So much variety,
Watching society
Scampering past!

If you had any mind at all,
Gibbons' divine "Decline And Fall"
Seems to the nosey
No more than a whimsy!
By way of contrast,
Saturday last;

I went to a marvellous party,
But didn't start dinner till ten;
And young Bobby Carr
Did a stunt at the bar
With a lot of extraordinary men! Mmmm!

Dear Baba arrived with a turtle,
Which shattered us all to the core!
The Grand Duke was dancing a rumba with me,
When suddenly Cyril screamed, "Fiddle-de-de!",
And ripped off his trousers and jumped in the sea!
Ha-ha-ha-ha!
I couldn't have liked it more!

I went to a marvellous party,
Elyse made an entrance with May;
You'd never have guessed
>From her fisherman's vest
That her bust had been whittled away!

Poor Lulu got fried on Chianti,
And talked about esprit-de-corps.
Maurice made a couple of pounds at guss,
And Freddy, who hates any kind of fuss,
Did half the big apple and twisted his truss!
I couldn't have liked it more!

Very nice! Did you write all these songs your self?

4063258 I only wrote one on my own (and that would be ''I Would Like to Be Your Mare'', which I credited to Sweetie Belle.) The other songs are all old standards from the past that were written by others (and, as the copyright dates from 1960, ''Volare'' and ''Hither, Thither and Yon'' would be the most recent of the standards here.)

4063264 Nice, it was my favorite!:yay: They were all very good!
