When nightmares come to life, art pieces showcasing · 10:50pm Jun 26th, 2016

You can go see the full detail of my work on my DeviantArt by clicking on on the imge below

This is supposed to be my interpretation of the human turn Dreamon, called Prince William, the main protagonist of the story, from the The Dream of Many written by WiseFireCracker. This is a very interesting story and WiseFireCracker has always had a knack at putting the the Brony Turn Pony stories with an interesting twist on that particular story theme, and I highly recommend all of his stories for all dose how are interested. This image showcases William when he is under the predatory influence of the Dreamon instincts that he hast to fight overt control of his actions, as was described in the chapter 8. I managed to get the blessing of WiseFireCracker himself to do this work, and I have been striving to my best to do his work justice in my art.
Now on enough about him, now it’s turn to put the attention on the actual work behind it.
Oh boy this was a hell of a dozy to do. This was an over 70 hours of work on and off spread over two months and was promised over six months ago; I think i should really consider being to starting on work on similar this a "little" sooner instead of just of just doing it whenever I feel like doing it. Still I think I finally reach the point in my art(boy I feel especially pretentious saying that) that I don't need to do as much studies on what I am going to create the composition before starting the actual work and know more or less intuitively what work's in a scene and what doesn't. For this work, I actually did a lots studies before (you can look around my gallery I think there are a few laying around) because I wanted this to be just perfect and didn't spare the effort on trying different methods to do make as much of a smooth, shiny purple metal sheen to the armor for which I had a lot of fun designing. Of course if it is not obvious the design was largely inspired by the Princess Luna’s Night Guard for the helmet as and colors of the armor as well as that of king Sombra’s for the leg guards. When a design the armor I wanted that every parts of his body of this Aliconesk creature to cream evil with a capital E. So I made as much of a Baroque design with lots of sharp angles that and put as many blades as I could get away with without going becoming tasteless. Sharpe pointy teethes, fork-tongue, dark red misty mane and tail I when with every cliché elements that I could think of to make an over the top villain. I originally wanted to put a brittle on that holds the helmet on his head inspired by works of Equestria Prevail on DA. I am still thinking of adding it in the near future.

Also, for those of you didn’t know I also did an image of William in his more “normal” dreamon form that I used to do the cover art of the story later on soon after it.

4055380 Thanks, your praises are very much appreciated. I strive to do my best with all my pieces, and despite sometime taking a little too long to do them I think that the waiting is some time worth it.

Damn! That is awesome!

That's definitely going into the collection of awesome works!
