Something I randomly thought about a few days ago: a Human in Equestria story, but the human in question is the protagonist of the Secret of Evermore game.
Those of you who've played it might know what I'm getting at. For those who don't, the protagonist gets transported from the modern day (or 1995 anyways, when the game was released) to another world that has magic alchemy spells, and his dog gets turned from a normal mutt into a wolfdog thing in the first area. The boy is entirely unfazed by everything he learns, but he quotes lines and scenarios from fictional B-movies like crazy.
"Wow! This is like what happens in “The Pale People of Planet V.” It’s about a bunch of astronauts who get stuck on an exact replica of Earth... ...only it’s populated by zombie vampires and... Well, actually, this isn’t like that at all."
Gets thrown into a world of talking ponies? Whatever. Dog turns into a dragon? Whatever (Spike turns into a dog in EG so I assume the reverse would be true). But he's going to throw a ridiculous amount of B-movie lines out.
Seriously, you should do this idea as a story! Sounds like a riot!
