So I finally got around to watching the MLP movie...

I bought the movie a while back, but never quite got around to watching it. But after I got back from Everfree Northwest, I decided to catch up on some pony. First watched the episodes in the last half of season 7 I hadn't watched yet, which was nice... getting back to back Zecora episodes after meeting Brenda Crichlo (who is awesome and super nice). And with that done, it was movie time.

    Orphaned Land touring the US...

For those with a love of prog/symphonic metal, especially if it has a dash of Middle Eastern flavor to it, Orphaned Land is touring the US. Good metal out of Israel with a positive message to boot.

    And then the murders began...

So was reading stuff on facebook, and a link to this turned up. The basic premise, that "adding 'And Then The Murders Began' As The Second Sentence Of Any Book Makes It Instantly Better". Though in some cases, people add it after the third or fourth sentence. But it does make one

    And back from Everfree Northwest

A long day today. Got up at 7 AM and prepared. Left the house the eight. Then a nice 130 mile ( 208 km for those with a sensible measurement system) drive. The convention location was easy to find. Parking at the site, not much so. Took a bit to find an open space. But eventually I did. And then it was time to head inside.

And back from Everfree Northwest · 12:16pm May 15th, 2016

A long day today. Got up at 7 AM and prepared. Left the house the eight. Then a nice 130 mile ( 208 km for those with a sensible measurement system) drive. The convention location was easy to find. Parking at the site, not much so. Took a bit to find an open space. But eventually I did. And then it was time to head inside.

Went in, picked up a single day pass, as well as a single autograph voucher, since I knew I was going to need at least. Checked the schedule, and off to the vendors. And there a bunch more of my cash vacated my wallet.

First up, right near the entrance of the vendors, was a DT bag. Well, obviously, need a DT bag to put the other DT stuff I would no doubt wind up getting in, so I got that. Right beside there, The Paper Pony had shadowboxes, including one of Diamond Tiara. Pretty awesome stuff, but I decided to wander on. Sadly, while many other vendors had quite nice looking art, they were lacking in the best best pony department. But some did have best pony. I picked up two Diamond Tiara Best Pony clip on badges and continued my search. Wound up picking up one DT and Spoon print. Volunteered to pick up a Chantal Strand signature for one of the vendors. And those shadow boxes I mentioned earlier? Yeah, got one of those.

Then it was time to hit the autograph room. And now I have this:

"Cutie Mark Wishes! CStrand Diamond Tiara" - for those who find the silver text a bit hard to read.

The reason I picked up two of the "Best Pony" badges? So I could give one to Chantal, which I did. Then I asked Chantal for a Diamond Cutter Anthology writing prompt, and it was off to bother her partner in crime, Shannon Chan-Kent. From her, I got my DT&Spoon walking print signed...

And an anthology prompt from her as well. Yup, some time soon, probably tomorrow, I'll throw up a pair of anthology prompts that come straight the horses' VA's mouths. Then back to the vendor area to hand over the autograph I said I'd pick up, and off to my car to put most of my goodies in my car, as well as my hat and Flames jersey.

Then back to catch more events, chatting with people, admiring the cosplays, and so on. Good fun.

The highlights:
- Obviously, getting my shadowbox signed by Chantal, and the other art bit by Shannon. Both ladies are awesome.
- The head to headcanon panel. Lots of fun chaos there. A good way to kill two hours.
- Chatting with my fellow pony fans, especially the various authors, such as Titanium Dragon and <Your name here if I met you. Really cool author's name otherwise... it's 5 AM, brain no right function>
- Checking out all the amazing items the vendors had.

Things that could have been better:
- I think it all would have been more fun if I'd arranged to go with or meet someone. Basically to have someone to share it all with. Almost like friendship is magic or something.
- EFNW had the VAs for DT, Spoon, Babs, and all the CMC. I really wish there had been a Fillies of Ponyville panel. But alas, there wasn't.

Things I have no regrets about:
- Going. It was fun. I recommend going to a con if you get a chance. Especially if you can go with friends.
- Leaving for home later than I should have. Had planned to head for home around 9:30 PM or so. Wound up leaving around 1:30 AM. So I got home at 4 AM. No regrets.
- Spending more than I should have on nifty stuff. Because the stuff... it is nifty.

Now, I'm past due for some sleep.

I am so jelly right now :applecry:

I feel so bad I couldn't go with. I really wish I could have gone, I really wanted her and Shannon to sign my mint condition FF#16 comic covers.

No matter what, if they happen to go again sometime next year or late this year, and you and or others go I'll make my damndest to go no matter what. Long as it's at least after august. I should hopefully be good to go by then.

Speaking of trying my damndest, for Chantal and Shannon I really hope I can write something for their prompt. Now if you'll excuse me I have to go lie down like an old man with a foot in the grave. lol Do show pics of that Best Pony DT badge and anything else you got. Would love to see it. I'd a mailed you the comics before with return money and everything but I felt it wouldn't be the same without having them sign it in person.

So glad you chose to go. Love the stuffings out of the shadowbox Diamond Tiara there in her moment of glory episode. Which is pretty much any episode with DT but that's beside the point.

Also, love the hat.

3945647 Prepare to get mo' jealous! Blog now includes a scan of the Shannon signed print.

I'll see about posting a picture of the bag later.

3946342 google bites. all I see even with adblock and everything else off is a big white-grey space with a white circle in the middle with a slightly thick grey line across it. Picture not viewable basically.

Can't wait. Add the badge in it too. xD
