Woah, it's Christmas in July!:D

Or rather, Christmas in May?
Oh man, first we had a Christmas episode near Halloween and now we have a Christmas episode during the summer but it's not even in July:/
I mean, MLP has now a total of three Christmas episodes:0 Most shows only have one, two if they're lucky. Not that I'm complaining, I'm just surprised and strangely impressed:0 Does this mean we're going to have a third Nightmare Night episode? If so, I say bring it on!:D Yes! Make a Discord &Fluttershy episode...please :'(

Wait a minute, if we now have three Hearth's Warming episodes, mostly Hasbro will cut it off here and we'll never get our Discord Hearth's Warming episode!:0 Nooooooooo!:0 I wanted Discord to learn the magic of Hearth's Warming, I wanted Fluttershy to kiss Discord's cheek underneath the mistletoe!X0 Why?!?!!?!!? Why can't I have nice things?!

Oh boy, I'm acting like a little Scrooge on this festive occasion0-0 Instead of complaining about what could happen, let's talk about what did happened and how awesome it really was:D Unlike Hearth's Warming episodes from before, this episode is musical and a retelling of a classic tale: The Christmas Carol <3 Now, I do love and appreciate this classic tale:) But what I love even more is retellings of this classic tale <3 Re-tellings of this story are always so creative and imaginative, and alot of fun:D Some of my favorites include:

Anyway, this episode is definitely not short on creativity and fun like many animated re-tellings of the Christmas Carol before it:) In fact, I wasn't expecting this episode to be based around the Christmas Carol and be a musical as well. After having almost a drought of songs in the beginning episodes of Season 6, Danie Ingram floods us with alot of great songs that will probably flood Youtube with covers and remixes galore:D Some of my personal favorites were:

Yes, we got some contenders for my list of favorite songs for Season 6 ^-^ It's funny, the tone and how this episode played out reminded me of the Muppet's Christmas Carol. Like this episode, the Muppet's Christmas Carol was very musical and jam packed with great songs:) It can be very light hearted but can go dark for certain parts like in the original tale. This episode may have not been as bitter sweet like the original Christmas Carol and the Muppets version, but overall this episode was a decent re-telling of the story itself and captured the important emotions and tones of the original tale:) Yet, all the while, this episode is still it's own story and set realistically within the world of MLP.
So instead of having just the names of the characters from the original tale, they had original names like Snowfall Frost for our dear Scrooge character

We have Flutter-Holly played by Fluttershy (Dang Fluttershy looked and acted soooo cute in this episode:3 I wished that I had a picture here)
However, some of names were not creative like Snow Dash for Rainbow' Dash's Bob C character:/ Really, Snow Dash -_-

However, I love all the ponies who played in their respective roles. Starlight as Snowfrost was cool. But Applejack as the Ghost of Christmas Past, Pinkie as the Ghost of Christmas "Presents";), Luna as the Ghost of Christmas Future, and Rainbow as Bob C were so great and spot on and overall fantastic!XD
Though, I was a little sad that we didn't have a Bob Marley character and a Tiny Tim character:( But I still understand why they did it that way.
The interesting part about Luna as the Ghost of Christmas Future is how much she talked in this episode. Usually, the Ghost of Christmas Future is shown as a silent but terrifying character. Sometimes in re-telling, the Ghost of Christmas Future only talks when to say a significant line for Scrooge to remember. While I don't mind Luna as the Ghost of Christmas Future to talk, however I felt like it would have been more powerful for Luna just to sing her song to Starlight and show her future rather than just talking about it. But I wasn't expecting Luna as the Ghost of Christmas Future, which was a great surprise:D
Although, it would have been super funny and amazing if Discord was the Ghost of Christmas Future!:D I can see why they didn't, but at the same time Discord could totally do a amusing yet also serious Ghost of Christmas Future<3 I can imagine Discord as the Ghost of Christmas Future singing this Starlight/Snowfall:

First appearing to her as the typical Grim Reaper ghost, then totally go Broadway tux on her and musical number like this with Fluttershy Clones as all the dancers as back up singers:D Hmm, I just might have to do a song fic of this particular scene;)
Anyway, the pacing for this episode was pretty good for the most part though I think it could have been better. But the musical parts certainly helped with the pacing and despite it's half hour restrictions. But I love the addition and balance of having Twilight tell the story of Snowfall to Starlight and Spike:) It was funny, cute, and helped with the pacing and tone and theme of the episode:) My favorite part of the episode definitely has to be the part with Applejack as the Ghost of Christmas Pas since they spent the most time on it during the episode and really captured the bittersweet tone of the original tale of the Christmas Carol. Yet still making this story original and their own take on the whole concept<3

I also appreciated how they incorporated some of How the Grinch Stole Christmas into the story of Snowfall and her evil plans to actually get rid of Hearth's Warming

Overall, I give this episode 8 hearts out of 10<3

I absolutely loved this episode! When I saw the teaser I was like: And then seeing the whole thing songs in all made me want it to be Christmas

And I agree with you, the tone of the episode does really match up with the Muppet Christmas Carol, which I adore. And the songs! THE SONGS!!! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHH!!!!

So epic and dramatic while capturing the essence of the story! I feel so spoiled!

I got all de goosebumps when she sang her big dramatic number!

All in all, this was a great episode. Season six is just churning out gems. And to think after such a short hiatus too! Lets hope this keeps on going!

Tehee Moon-Butt:3 In terms of which song in the episode was the best, I might have to think on that one and wait till the end of Season 6 to decide on that;)

After a kinda roughish start to the season, Season 6 is definitely picking up speed and churning out great episodes:D I cannot wait for more!:D

I was surprised too by Hasbro making a thrid Christmas special, but the episode was good, and my personal musical favorite episode of Mlp. Sorry Pinkie pride and Crusaders of the lost mark. Your songs were great, but A Heart's Warming tale songs were better (to me) I knew the chrismas carol- cliche, and I have seen must the mupperts version of it expect the end
I liked the episode, even though Starlight is really beginning to annoy me Sorry to all Starlight Glimmer fans! I'm so sorry but she's not my cup of tea. So sorry to all, there really like her

Ps. I'm the only one there is think that Snowfall/ Starlight teacher was " inspired" by Severus Snape from the Harry Potter franchise?
I haven't seen much Harry Potter, but I can't help but think of Severus, when I saw the theacher.
I mean just look at the similarities. The demeanor, the hair, and the freaking dark aura!
But It can just be me?
