Getting There · 1:16am May 10th, 2016
SOON.
One more chapter (+epilogue) left to write and the ol' Pirate Hats sequel is done. I'd say two more productive weekends should be all it takes to knock it out, barring unforeseen circumstances. The story, while split into 9 10 chapters for reader convenience, is meant to be read in one sitting if possible, so it will be published complete instead of chapter by chapter. Oh, and it's also kinda sorta about Little Apple Horse, if you were wondering.
Boy, it feels weird to write horse stuff again.
Welcome back.
You gonna take the [Retired] off your tag or is this a short time thing?

No, I'm gonna leave it where it is. This story is only getting made because it was fully planned and outlined like 2-3 years ago. I felt kinda guilty that it never got written, considering I really liked the concept, so I decided to finally knock it out.
This is the last thing I had waiting in the wings, though. No more horsin' around for me.
oh mai goaaaawd :3
Sweet!
This is where that million dollars went to, isn't it?
Wow! I thought my eyes had deceived me when I saw your name pop up for the second time this year, talk about a pleasant surprise. Thanks for the last hurrah. I know I can't wait to read it, sad though it will be to have a definite end to things.

Oh, the hypothetical million dollars would go toward buying beachfront property in Belize, from which I'd write endless horse words per the dictates of my contract, knowing full well that if I didn't deliver, the agents of the shadowy organization that requested the horse words would arrive to "persuade" me to continue. At the end of the day I'd smoke a cigar and drink myself into a stupor while looking out from my porch at the Caribbean sea, wondering if it was all really worth it and trying to suppress the feeling of my creative soul dying within me, much like the dying light of the distant sunset dancing upon the waves.
I'm writing this story because I feel like it. Believe it or not, it makes a difference!
Alack this bittersweet day!
when our hero descended to upon our eyes his words lay.
To stoke the fires of every man's heart.
But to surely, for the last, Depart.

>that feel when the second guy who ever commented on something you posted here shows up 2 years later to bid you farewell with a poem
Damn, it's a "I'm sincerely touched by the gesture and struck by an odd mixture of melancholy and happiness" kinda feel
Thanks, man. Hopefully it'll be worth the 2+ year wait.
3938608 To be honest, i'm surprised you even remembered. Ironically ( or perhaps prophetically), we were even talking about a sequel to Pirate hats and Whatnot, which this story has become. I'm really gonna miss you, as you were one of my favorite authors period, not just on fimfiction.
Holy shit, you're back.
I do wonder, If you don't mind me asking:
Why are you retiring?
Also, do you have original writinf that you're working on?

Lack of time and lack of interest in the source material, mostly. That, and I feel satisfied that I've explored the world and the characters of MLP as much as I'd like to by this point.
Funny you should ask, but I am planning out a short series of original fantasy books. However I doubt I'll get started on them for another 10-15 years or so. I think writing will be a fun hobby to pick up again once I actually retire from my real career.

You certainly have the skill for it.
Hopefully I'll see your writings around before then.
