So I won't be as active anymore.

I have some IRL troubles to deal with, I will pop in every once and a while, but if you need to contact me, I can't guarantee that I'll get back to you in a timely manner. I am sorry.

Long story short; I could potentially lose my home.

So the more I think about it...

The more I realize I technically met my SO via Fimfic.

    Dunno why I'm saying this.

_____So, my birthday was not too long ago. I had a rather relaxing day.
_____Then my mother messaged me, telling me how much she loved me.
_____That put me in a real sour and murderous mood. Right ruined my day.

    Six years.

_____Six goddamn years I've been on this site. Well, kind of, I'm posting this early, but only because every other year I forgot to post it on my join date, then told myself I'd do it the next year every year. But, since G... 5, is it? G5 G4 is over, I suppose it's finally time to make this blog post. So. Wow, six years. I'll admit, I'd been aware of the thing

    And We're Back

_____For another exciting episode of... blog posts, I guess.
_____Oh and the move went about as successfully as one could hope for, so I guess there's that, but that's like the least important thing here.

A tag that should or shouldn't be removed? · 5:16pm Mar 19th, 2016

So I talk about Wrath of the Harbinger a lot. Like, almost all the time. Now, today, I'm asking for your opinion here. Before the new tags came out, I put the alternate universe tag there on the story for the reason that there's... well, alternate universes in the story. But since the new tags came, I'm not sure if the Sci-Fi is more appropriate or not. Here's why.
Alternate Universe Tag:

Stories that take place in a world significantly diverged from canon. Changing the outcome of major events, large setting changes, or anything else that represents a large break from canon, particularly if the change is something that does not happen during the story itself. Stories that start at a point in canon and diverge through character development or other in-story events generally do not qualify as AU.

AU is not, however, appropriate for cases where MLP:FiM has no significant impact on the story. When all characters are stripped of their defining features and replaced with fundamentally different traits and characterization, any and all relevance to MLP:FiM is discarded.

Sci-Fi

Stories taking place in a futuristic setting or with advanced technology. Dealing with topics such as alien life, space travel, time travel, parallel universes, etc. Stories of this genre generally explore what a world could be like when such things are possible within the realm of science.

I mean, if you've read the story, and know what the hunters are supposed to be doing then... well you can see my dilemma. Another reason for the AU tag is because there's more than one Equestria. So yeah.

What do you guys think?

It's fine. Keep the tags. Also, what are your thoughts on mayonnaise?

3815924
I like mayonnaise.

well, based on the tag info, the sci-fi tag DOES seem to be a closer fit, since THAT one has the alternate universes and such,
and WotH has characters FROM an alternate universe / other dimension entering the regular pony universe.

On the other hand, BECUASE of all this, the AU tag also fits, because it does diverge the story from canon.

So BOTH tags would fit. Can't you just have them both, or are you limited to just one of them?

3815929
I could, I'm not limited to having both of those tags on the story. However, I was saving that last spot just in case I wanted to add the romance tag, or any other number of tags. I know I state that tags will be removed and/or added as needed (along with characters) but AU is also there because there's also more than one Equestria. And despite the tag, I've kept the characters as in-character as I possibly could. Remove the OOC-creating Mary Sues and you'd have characters that remain true to the show, as least, from what you've told me.

I've been leaning towards Sci-Fi a bit more for this reason.

Edit: If you've ever read Diaries of a Madman, that COULD be considered an alternate universe, since there are large setting changes in some parts, while also staying true to the show, and he doesn't have the AU tag on the story.

3815935 well, in that case, I say go with sci-fi on this - most of the stuff the humans bring with them are
technologically more advanced than most stuff seen in the show (rifles, guns, grenades) even if they ARE also magic (magic grenades).

So from their view, the humans ARE in fact a bit sci-fi-y, AND that tag description is a close match to a lot of the story.

And yes, I believe I DID say at some point that the characters feel as close to the show as they could get in a setting / situation like this,
reactions and behaviour feels accurate, and so on.

Furthermore - I have NOT read "Diaries of a Madman", but I have seen the title while browsing around here on fimfic.
I might read it at some point.

Thanks, that's what I've been leaning towards. We'll see what other people have to say on it.

3816014 Glad I could help. :moustache:
