There are two things that have been bothering me recently, and I'm wondering if anyone could help me with answers.
The first one is for this site specifically. Is anyone having any issues with the messenger system? I know I'm probably crazy, but I have this distinct feeling like I'm not receiving messages. It's probably my anxiety getting the better of me.
The second thing is more of a general computer question. My computer has been asking if I want to update to Windows 10 for awhile now. Normally, I would ignore it, since it shouldn't really matter, not to mention that I haven't exactly heard good things about the OS. However, I've recently been having some issues with my computer which have led me to wonder if an OS change would help. Specifically, my browser has been very hit-or-miss. Some sites (like this one and FB) work perfectly. Some, like YouTube, work about half the time. Some, like deviantART, don't work at all. Most likely I screwed it all up myself and there's no fixing it outside of getting a new computer, which I can't do at this time.
Any assistance would be appreciated. Cheers.
It depends on what you are currently running as an OS if you have Windows 7, do not update to Windows 10 or else your system will be screwed up and the only to fix it is if you reset the computer to factory specs. 8.1 will update cleanly since I have done it. As for messages, I haven't sent any since I was just waiting for a story you mentioned earlier 'Relaxing Royalty'
3805864 Well I have 8.1, so I'll have to take it into consideration. What is your opinion of Windows 10? Good? Just OK? As for the story, hehe... the writing mojo just hasn't been there for me, recently.
3805876 don't worry about the story too much I'm a patient man and as for Windows 10, I like it a lot more than 8.1 because it is a desktop base a lot like 7 but it's actually easier to navigate because the search bar/Cortana is right there next to the start button
Art, I would and would not recommend 10.
This shouldn't be an issue for a powerful tower, but for laptops it can be a hassle.
I enjoy it for some things and others...Not so much.
One thing that bugs me is the fact that it chooses to be so flashy and detailed compared to 7, it tends to bog the computer down.
I enjoy 10s design but it has a few key differences, but if you don't fiddle with your computer settings.on a daily basis, this should not be an issue.
One plus for 10 is that it was built and optimized towards gaming. Which works out for me because I program, 3d model, and obviously, game.

I recommend using CCleaner for cleaning up the registry, web cache, and clean up those dusty system files that aren't being used anymore (not personal files made by you mind you) it should speed up your computer in terms of web browsing, startup and application launch time. NOTE: don't remove password/autofill data if you are willing to type in all your passwords again for your webpages.

3810405 I did end up upgrading to 10 and so far I am pretty happy with it. I like the layout a lot more than 8.1 and so far there haven't been any major issues. May look into this CCleaner you mentioned. If it would help the performance, it's worth looking into.
