Actually, they aren't. Quark matter is a theoretical state of matter that is only achievable under temperatures and pressures billions of times higher that what any scientist can do in the lab. Trust me, I've tried it.

Oh, well, tachyons are superluminal particles, or particles that move faster than light. They only exist in theory because scientists haven't found a way to make a particle go faster than light... but I'm not a scientist... so...

String Theory is pretty much the basics of space-time and understanding the universe; nuclear physics, pocket dimentions, black holes, all that stuff. Basically, point particles (zero-dimensional particles; they don't take up space and their physcal properties are irrelevant in given context) are replaced by 1-D objects or particles called Strings, which move through space. It's pretty broad... actually, I'll be honest, it gives me a freaking headache! I have no idea why- DO WE NOT HAVE ENOUGH COMPLEX AND OVERLY BROAD AND EXTENSIVE TOPICS IN THE WORLD?!?! JEEZ!
