Experimentation in Writing
[rant]
Readers expect you to write a certain way. They don't like to dig deep. If it's too deep, then it doesn't make sense to them. They'll just throw words at it in hopes that the author changes his or her ways.
I'm sorry to all who I reviewed like this. I don't like it when they throw words at me either.
You're probably wondering what sparked this post. Unfortunately, I can't tell you. You'll have to wait until a certain date, but put it in short:
A story has more than one approach. Any writer knows that. If a reader does not interpret it the way the author wanted, then the author would get upset. I understand that, of course, having had that happen to me multiple times, but it's getting ridiculous. There's always a certain set of standards that these authors have, and they never break out of them, because that's what they see as right and that's that. Problem is that there is no such thing as a standard of writing. Teachers teach it and it is completely false. If that were the case, then creative writing would be shot down by AA guns in a heartbeat.
So if you interpret it in a certain fashion, then that is what you see. I respect that.
But daring to disrespect the other views you forgot to acknowledge is a disgrace. Everyone writes differently, so single-minded viewing is not appropriate.

I'm sorry. It's what I see.
Have you been talking to the man in the mirror?

Yep. Told me to shut the fuck up.
>I didn't listen.
Don't be sorry.
That's the power of a rant.

You're right. I shouldn't be sorry.
I'm just sorry that I had to post it so late. :c

Good for me though. :D
O_O Well, I know it isn't my review... heh. Hope things get cleared up sooner than later. Personally, I think many forget that writing is an art, and is there for subjective. While there are basics to stick to, I think many critics/reviewers should focus more upon what the author is trying to tell in their story than trying to judge based upon a set of written rules by 'professional' authors.
Kind of like paintings, each person is going to see something different about the work of art than the next person, you know?
