The Ongoing Evolution of BTROAH · 11:05pm Feb 17th, 2016
Hey, everypony. I mentioned in the last chapter of my novel that I would post a blog later today, and here it is. What I want to discuss in this blog is just as the title allures to: the changes in this novel, both current and upcoming.
Let's start with the most recent changes, shall we? I'm sure some of you who read my original story are wondering about the latest chapter. It's nothing at all like the original chapter 6, is it? Well, my friends, I want to be frank with you: it's not. This chapter just so happens to be one of the additional chapters I decided to add to the story. I remembered a comment from one of my old readers saying that the story felt a bit "rushed". I say with humility that he was right. Sure, it can be seen that Rose and Bladewing are now a couple; but if they instantly decided to admit they love each other, then their relationship is no different from a fairy tale. I published this recent chapter for that very reason. A rapid progression of the rising action is bound to ruin any good novel, no matter how elaborate the chapters are. I decided I will take my time with the events in the story in order to ensure that I keep it interesting and to keep you guys guessing. To put it in an analogy, if my original story were like a struggling plant, then this recent chapter was the result of adding the brand new fertilizer that is my enhanced writing skills. But don't worry, everypony. As I told one other reader, I will not delete any of the old chapters. I will just remove any unwanted material from them and republish them with new twists. The journey of our hero will still proceed as I had originally planned.
Now that I've taken care of the present changes, I'll take this time to elaborate on future changes. As I stated earlier, I intend to take a slower route when it comes to the progression of Bladewing's journey. I want to build as much of a suspense as I can, so I will look over the old chapters very carefully. Again, this announcement is mostly for my older readers. If I find any further discrepancies in the original timeline, then you can bet that I will resolve them all accordingly. I don't think my story is really deserving of so many dislikes, but they're there for a reason. What do you think, everypony? Is there anything wrong with my story now that you can point out to me? One thing I always ask of all my readers is to give me feedback when dropping a dislike. Let me know your thoughts. It could be about any aspect of the story you like, whether it's an individual chapter, the rising action so far, the scenes, or even the characters themselves. I said it before in another blog post, and in this one I say it again: a writer can never hope to better himself if he shuns the hearts and minds of his readers. Thank you for your time, everypony, and have fun with your own creative works.
