Current Story Trajectory

Hello, everypony, and welcome back to my blog! It's Cavalryunit001 here, and as promised, I'm bringing you a blog concerning all the recent updates to my story. There's so much I want to tell you guys, and I honestly think that by the time I am finished with this post, I will have written enough to fill in a few sheets on Microsoft Word. But, I digress. There's quite a bit that I'll be discussing in this blog post, and so without further ado, let us begin.

The first thing I want to talk about is the deadline I mentioned in my earlier blog post. I'll start by apologizing for not having fulfilled it. The new chapter was indeed complete and ready for launch, but upon careful review of the additional changes to the story that I wanted to create, it appeared that one week might not be enough to finish them. I tried my very best, but I was only able to make half of these changes by the deadline I set for myself. So, I decided that if I wasn't going to be able to make the necessary additions on time, I would at least make sure that they were as awesome as possible. I toiled long and hard over them, and though I was a bit sad to see I lost favor with one of my readers (140 likes -> 139 likes), I am satisfied with the results. I suppose by now you're wondering, "Are you going to make any other retroactive changes to your story?" Well, my friends, the answer is simply no. I have decided since the moment I completed the final touches that these changes would not only be permanent, but also terminal. I love receiving feedback from you guys and using it to perfect my story (shout-out to R.A.P.M. and all of you who posted comments on it), but in the end, the story is mine to create. I want it to go the way I want it, and if I make too many changes to my story, then it no longer feels like my own to me. These are the final changes I will make before I dedicate myself to actually writing new chapters for the rest of the story's lifespan. With that said, I hope you guys enjoyed the final changes I've added to the story.

Second, I want to discuss the changes themselves. I'm sure you noticed by now that "New Beginnings" is no longer included in my list of chapters. But did I delete it? Absolutely not, fillies and gentlecolts. See, what I did here is that I simply changed the name of the chapter to a different one after the main changes have been made (you may have noticed that the comments on this particular chapter haven't changed a bit.) However, there is one chapter that I did add along with these changes, and that would be "Contact". I know it sounds like the title of one of my old chapters, and that's because it is (I switched the old "Contact" chapter to "Confrontation", something a bit more... appropriate). But anyway, back to discussion. The "New Beginnings" chapter had been transformed to "Divine Encounter"... and as the name implies, Bladewing gets an experience unlike any other. Here his soul is temporarily pulled from his body as he encounters Faust for the first time. But of course, he doesn't know yet that she and the mare Nexus described to him in "Great Expectations" are one in the same (he thinks Faust is a whole other mare entirely lol)... and this, my brony friends, is what leads us into the second half of this discussion.

I suppose after all this time, you're thinking by now, "Is Faust who I think she is?" Guess what... she is! It's Lauren Faust's OC. Now I normally don't use OCs created by another person, but I've done all of the required research into it before doing ANYTHING of the sort (I don't want to take credit for anypony else's work). It seems not much is known about her beyond who her creator is. The fandom has a lot of theories as to who she could be (from mother of Celestia and Luna to Goddess-Empress of Equestria), but there is little to suggest an official bio on her. Also, from what I've seen on this site, there are two groups dedicated to stories featuring her (which means that she's free to use in stories with her as a character.) Granted this and what I plan to do for my story's plot, I decided that I would use her and create a bio of my own for her... and let me tell you, I think it's coming along nicely. "But why have Bladewing encounter her so early in the story?" Well, let's just say I want as creative an origin story for Bladewing as possible. It won't change his character per se - he still doesn't believe in deities - but it will give you a sense of what is to come in his life. Trust me, it's going to make a lot more sense in later chapters, when everything starts coming into place. So stay tuned to blogs like this (and new chapters) to find out, K?

Lastly (but certainly not least), I want to talk about the current path of this story as a whole. As I mentioned in the last blog post, there are only two more chapters after this latest one I published before we finally get started into the adventures Bladewing will have in this magical world. However, I'm afraid that my progress with these very chapters will be significantly reduced for the next six months. I decided that this coming August, I will return to college, and seeing as how I haven't been to college in three years since I dropped out, I got a lot of catching up to you. To condense it all into one enchilada, I have six months to relearn two years' worth of coursework before I return to getting a bachelor's degree. I dropped out of college with a 4.0 GPA, however, so I'm confident this will be no problem for me. However, this means that until I get back into college, I'll no longer be able to spend as much time writing my story as I used to since I have to catch up on my studies. But don't let this discourage you, my friends. I'm still writing the story, and I'm not going to stop until it's complete. If anything, I ask you to consider this an opportunity for you to voice your opinion. Since it's going to be a while before my next chapter is ready for release, you can use this time to tell me what you'd like to see in the coming chapters (or if you have anything else you'd like to share with me). You have from now until my next blog post to voice your opinion on this post, so if you really want to see this story be as epic as possible, I suggest you do so. I'll be keeping a close eye out for what you guys send my way.
