Appreciation has a few people hitting the dislike button. I'm not complaining about the fact that my story is disliked, everyone is entitled to their own opinions.
But since they downvoted and left without leaving any feedback, I'm left to hypothesise to myself why it happened. Well, I have a decent idea, at least I think so.
I bet two or even all three of those that disliked it were expecting a Sparity (Spike X Rarity) Hearts and Hooves Day fic but instead... SPOILER ALERT, DO NOT HOVER OVER THE TEXT IF YOU DO NOT WISH TO BE SPOILED: Rarity friendzones Spike but also gives him some encouragement about having a significant other and that he's still very young; he shouldn't worry about stuff like that for the time being and just focus on being a kid.
The thought alone was enough to make me chuckle. Sorry, ponies! I'm extremely stingy with shipping in this fandom. Ha, ha!
Well, I left my comment on how I felt about the story. As a matter of fact, I think I'm the only one that has. Anyway, I could see by the title it was going to be either a shipfic or 'knowing one's worth' fic. I was surprised that it was an 'enjoy being a kid while you can' fic. I think I've only seen one story like that.

To respond to your covered comment: Oh really? Wow. Call me a purist if you wish, but when I write about this franchise/fandom, I try my very best to stay faithful to the general theme of the show. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think there isn't an episode themed around enjoying being a kid, at least not yet. We'll have to see if they decide to make an episode with that kind of message in the sixth season, though.
