I Play Pokémon and I Don't Wish They Were Real · 8:50pm Jun 12th, 2016
I'm sure if you're an internet junkie and like to play Pokémon, you've at least seen these memes or images once or twice before, if not a bunch of times. As a kid, I imagined how life would be in the Pokémon universe a bunch of times and it seemed pretty awesome. But people who genuinely wish they were real are asking for certain death. If Pokémon were real, they'd be more dangerous than any other real life animal you'd ever meet or has already existed.
This goes for a lot of people my age. Have you ever read the Pokédex? And I don't mean reading one or two entries, I mean reading a lot and deeply delving into the entries and really thinking about them.
Just take this one for example.
According to the Diamond and Pearl entry, every rampage it does levels mountains and buries rivers causing people to have to redraw maps. Now imagine if Tyranitar leveled Mt. Everest. Can you imagine how big of a pain in the ass it'll be to have to remake a map of the ENTIRE world now that Mt. Everest is out of the picture? It's all because of this asshole who can't control its temper!
Some can even cut your life short like this one.
According to its dex entry, it burns your soul and leaves your body behind and your soul loses its way and wanders for all eternity. Yes, imagine walking into an abandoned mansion on a daring adventure and then it turns out you trespassed upon this Pokémon's territory. If it isn't your owned Pokémon, it's going to probably suck the life out of you for intruding upon its territory.
One of the earliest examples of an annoying but dangerous one, is this.
Golbat is an annoying Pokémon but if you ever encounter one that's awake with no Pokémon to defend yourself, you're probably not going to escape that cave because its dex entry said that once it starts sucking your blood, it will never stop. Now imagine yourself in a cave with just a flashlight and saw this.
Yeah, starting to wish you didn't enter that cave, aren't you?
Those are just three out of the many, many others that have entries just as dangerous if not more dangerous.
We're very lucky that Pokémon don't exist because they are some of the most deceptively destructive creatures you'll ever meet. We now have over 720 known species and that number will go up in the next installments Sun and Moon. Imagine if literally all those Pokémon existed with their powers and destructive powers and tendencies. The Earth would be virtually uninhabitable.
So, do you still think Pokémon should be real or you wish you could live in its universe? Without Poké Balls, you'd essentially have no tool for taming these powerful creatures. Whoever invented those things should have people lining up to suck on their Poké Balls on a daily basis because whatever is in those Poké Balls somehow converts those dangerous creatures into powerful allies.
Be thankful it's only fiction and it's just a game. Saying goes: Be careful what you wish for.
I kinda thought about that before. Now that you went more into detail. I feel a bit happier that reality is what it is X)
