What is Life? (Episode 2: Love) · 4:59pm Feb 13th, 2016
Warning, blah blah blah, you had your chance.
Ah, February. The month of love. Honestly, I'm excited for Valentines day. The day of love. Even though I won't be able to spend it with 'her', I still can be with everyone else I love! My mom, dad, sister, brother, grandparents, spanish neighbor next door... it's all just very exciting. But the question here is... What is love? Well, in one terminology, it means "Level of Violence". Undertale references aside, what does love truly mean? And... how important is it to us as humans?
Recently, I went through a short, yet serious case of depression. I even contemplated suicide, as seen here. (It's best if you read that blog before continuing.) But I didn't kill myself. Do you know why? Well, first things first, I wasn't dull enough to kill myself. Your life would seriously have to be colorless to bring yourself to that decision. But I also realized another thing. Something that I forgot before I came to thinking about these things. I realized that I have friends. And my friends love me.
Love is a variety of different feelings, states, and attitudes that ranges from interpersonal affection ("I love my mother") to pleasure ("I loved that meal"). It can refer to an emotion of a strong attraction and personal attachment.
I realized that everyone that surrounds me... loves me. This definition doesn't say much, so what I'm about to say is what I believe is the truth.
Love is the feeling of being cared for and nurtured. It is a combination of different things- Affection, Kindness, Honesty, Generosity, Helpfulness, and Friendship. When you fall down, someone will help you up. When you fail that test, the person who will help you study for the next test is one that loves you. That is love. So this Valentines Day, remember this. Remember what love truly is. Remember to anyone that loves you, that you love them. Thank you for listening, and remember- stay Determined.
