[Writing Tips] Remember This About Your Writing · 2:21am Feb 13th, 2016
If you think that your own writing is boring and predictable, that's because:
1)You wrote it
2)You’ve read it like eight million times.
Others who haven't read your words before won't have this issue.
EDIT: But it also doesn't hurt to have people read your stuff. People you trust to give their honest opinions.
If you still have trouble finding the right words for your story, always remember it's an evolving process. If you must, just rush through the writing then look it over again once you're done and make the changes you want. It may seem like a lot of effort, but it's a whole lot better sitting in front of a blank sheet for an hour. Trust me when I say you'll feel a lot more better and productive by getting your skeleton down.
If you're having a block on your writing and want to feel inspired, spend your free time looking at stuff related to your writing, but not just any sort of stuff. If you're someone who's into writing a story about deep character interactions, watch your favorite show or book that has just that. Need a good inspiration for adventure! Digest the same genre from your favorite mediums. This way, you having a good time and learning as well.
If you want to get some good practice in just write at least a little. One paragraph a day is even enough as long as it means something to you.
One last thing. Write stuff that you would enjoy. It's great to have a lot of people support your work, but if your stories don't make you feel happy then it's not worth the effort. Always share what you like, and in turn gather a following that shares your interest too.
