On second thought, let me explain... · 5:27am Feb 3rd, 2016
I realize that my previous post wasn't very informative, so let me expand a bit.
I am not dead, slowly getting there, maybe, but not there yet.
I'm sorry for my continued silence both on this blog and in comment replies, but when the comments start asking questions about the plot I have to tread carefully. As for the blog I've been thinking about turning this into more a regular thing, both in the interest of keeping readers engaged, and getting people up-to-date on the goings on in my life. I don't know if I should make this a daily thing or maybe kick it down to once a week, but if there is enough interest I will be happy to add it to my schedule. Consider this the litmus test.
Charlemane's super busy life.
The week up to today:
This week has been pretty mundane. My work schedule has finally evened out so that I no longer have to go to bed at 10pm to make it to my 7am shift and not act like a zombie--maybe my age is catching up to me. Either way, I've had more time to write (See: MechWarrior Online) as well as catch up with the projects that I've been working on.
This week also marked the release of my first dance track (which you can totally find here in all of its flawed glory) and is essentially the culmination of a lot of poking around with Massive(which is confusing as all hell) and the rest of the NI Ultimate bundle in Reaper(which is awesome).
I also made a few animated gifs for a personal project I've been working on using a new program called Graphics Gale.
I'm happy to report that the program works great. Once you get over the learning curve and actually bind the hotkeys(that was annoying), the creation process gets super streamlined. You're not limited to small stuff either. You can do anything from minute 10x10 pixel animations to massive HD monoliths if you want. The only downside is that the brush settings suck, so if you're looking to prototype, you might consider using another program like Photoshop for things like smooth shading, and then use Gale to animate.
also,
See? I'm working on it! I've been chipping away at it every night, trying to set it up as a nightly ritual. Progress is slow sometimes, but I still manage to fit it in there.
I spent most of today and yesterday working on homework for my computer science coursework. I'm enrolled in a CS course through OSU, and I've been doing well. Between that and my job, it eats up a lot of my free time.
Speaking of things that eat up free time.
I've gotten more work from SFS, so I'm going to be working on that over the weekend alongside everything else I'm doing. I can't say what it is because I'm under NDA, but I can say that it will keep me busy. Well, busier. On top of that, I've been commissioned by Tolson from -42- to do a few voices for his gameplay videos. It should be some fun times.
So that's what I've been up to. Sorry if chapters have been delayed, but I am working on them! (see above). If you're interested in seeing stuff like this more often leave a comment below. If not, ignore it and I'll just get back to work. Peace.
I'm cool with this let us know that you're still alive and kickin
