I've decided to take a short hiatus from LCS. Saturday, January 30 will be the last chapter for a bit, and this is for three reasons.
The first reason is A̶r̶t̶i̶f̶i̶c̶i̶a̶l̶ Intelligence, another story of mine that was idealized right alongside LBS (despite them being completely unrelated). A̶r̶t̶i̶f̶i̶c̶i̶a̶l̶ Intelligence is reaching its apex, and I've been meaning to finish it for the longest. So, I'm going to be devoting about 33.33333% of my focus on that.
The second reason is that I have a bunch of ideas for short one-shots and stuff that I want to complete really badly. I realized that I kinda started off on dumb one-shots, and I should revisit my roots to see exactly how much I've grown in that department. I actually have 3 in production at the moment, and two or three more in the conceptual phase. I can't possibly be working on these, and LCS, and A̶r̶t̶i̶f̶i̶c̶i̶a̶l̶ Intelligence, so I decided to cut out LCS (for now) to focus more on my smaller/almost finished things. So, I'm going to be devoting another 33.33333% of my focus on one-shots.
Third and final reason is the timing. Boy, this upcoming month absolutely, positively sucks for writing a romance fic. First of all, everyone is going to do it. It's Valentine's time, for Celestia's sake (although, now that I think about it, ship-fics were never a rarity). Besides that, with all the talk of love and romance and Valentine's Day, I normally find myself really depressed. I think Valentine's Day is a stupid, selfish, cruel holiday that has the dual goal of making love about physical possessions and shaming those of us who are single and writing fanfics. One last thing about February is that my birthday is at the top of the month (the 4th), so I kinda just wanna take a break to do what I want to do, when I want to do it. Not that I don't want to do LCS anymore, because that's honestly my favorite fic to write for nowadays, but I'd just rather take a break from self-imposed deadlines. So, I'm going to be devoting another 33.33333% to enjoying my birthday/not going insane.
Hope you guys understand, and that you'll be back when LCS returns. I suspect that somewhere near the end of February, beginning of March will be a good time to come back. Look at the bright side; Now, when you tell your friends about LBS, they'll have a couple of weeks to catch up.
