Okay, I'm still stuck in the middle of Iron Mare, but I figured I might as well try my hand at Spider-Colt/Spider-Mane/Spider-Pony/Whatever the final name of the story is...
So, since I'm an obsessive-compulsive perfectionist (aren't all writers?) I figured I'd ask YOU my loyal followers/whomever's viewing this post this VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION:
Who should be my Peter Parker....
First some rules:
1. The pony must be either a unicorn or an earth pony, because if he's a Pegasus that sorta cancels out the whole spider-power thing (why web-sling when you can FLY?)
2. I'd prefer a boy but if anypony lists a girl I'll take a look...
3. Try and list reasons for picking this character.
Okay, now my actual candidates for the role:
Caramel: Why? Well, so far in his appearances in the show, he seems to be somewhat shy and nerdy.
Pipsqueak: Why? Well, if Peter Parker is young (i.e. a teenager) Pip is at least in the right age group.
Dinky Hooves: So far the only girl on the list. Why? Well, the fandom usually depicts her as rather smart for her age and it makes Derpy Aunt May! And she's adorable...

As a massive Spider-man fanboy I really wish I had seen this when it was posted.
