I'm afraid I need to ask for another week to do the next chapter of Precious. So much has been happening, and it's not slowing down, and I have no idea how I'm not flipping out at this point. I guess the fainting couch awaits. I think next week I'll have more time to write and can resume with Dash spending the night at Fluttershy's and the events of the next morning.
There is, however, a reason!
I made a video game. It's been taking all my time and attention for the last couple weeks, but I think the fever's broken and I can resume doing other stuff. I'm going to be putting it on Steam in some way, and hopefully I can get away from the absolute panic I've lived in for the better part of the year and manage to do work somebody pays for. Turns out I can get deeply into the videogame making, because it is in fact also an art, and you can get a vibe going with it and really jam.
And not just me! Odds are, if you're reading this you can too. That's because rather than give you a chapter (next week, I will try my very best) I am giving you the first-look builds:
Counterpart for Windows, Counterpart for Mac OSX, and Counterpart for Linux.
I don't know if that's QUITE as awesome as Rainbow Dash, but bear in mind that if I can do this maybe I can also do pony games (or help with existing Unity-based pony game projects, hint hint)
I hope that, if not this, then SOME game project can amuse people on a large scale, because I really could use some help. And not just feeding my cat, either. Coming home from a meeting, I got this…
Ow ow ow ow, that wheel is not supposed to be pointing that way. Even drift cars don't get that much 'toe-in' it happened at 60mph on the highway, so I guess being able to write a chapter a week late is good compared to what might have happened, but now I can't go anywhere or do anything. At least there's a grocery store in walking distance.
Love you guys, hope you like the video game, and I vow I shall complete Precious: I'm nearly half finished, you know, and though events have become harder and harder to cope with, sometimes it's for nice reasons. I like being able to do ingenious things with videogames. It really is a kind of art, art of the experience and audiovisual code-shaping. That's fulfilling.
Assuming my car doesn't really kill me (first it was a fuel leak into the cabin, then brake line bursting, and now this?) and I don't an-hero, I will complete the Precious story. And I don't need a car to go to Bronycon. I take the train, so I will be there whether or not I have a car
Oh shit, dude. Glad you're OK. *hugs*
Also, yay for the happy bleep-blop sounds!
