    Hey There/Updates

Hey everyone. What's up? How are things? Sorry I've been so inactive lately. I've just been extremely busy with classes. Somehow all of my professors managed to make their due dates for major assignments on the same day or at least incredibly close together. So yeah, that's been fun. I just wanted to let you all know that I haven't died or anything, and am actually doing fairly well. I have some

    My Current Favorite Show

The thing is, that I normally don't find much of an interest in anime. But this, this is something else. Love Live! is probably one of the cheesiest, cutesy shows I have ever experienced, and considering that I'm talking to you about it here of a site for mlp fanficiton, that's saying something. As I'm sure you know, I'm a sucker for cheesy stuff, especially when great characters and a nice bit

Season 5 Favorites · 6:41pm Dec 5th, 2015

Well, since the season is over, I figure it's time to poll my favorite few episodes we got out of it. I don't know if you guys had the same feeling as I did, but to me this season was rather mediocre, you know? It was alright but nothing incredibly special when you look at it as a whole. That doesn't mean that there weren't a few gems though, and here are the gems that I found the most valuable.

1. The Cutie Re-Mark - Why? Well, it had a solid story that had a good pace throughout the hour that it lasted. It also provided great character progression for both Twilight and Starlight Glimmer. Last but not least, the incredible alternate timelines. As I mentioned in my review of it, not only were they fun, unique for the show, and just plain interesting, but also are a gold mine for the fandom. They provided a setting, a slight background, and a bit of a story, but otherwise it was all white space. White space that the fandom can have all the fun they want with, whether it be fiction, art, etc.

2. Amending Fences - This one comes in at a very close second, almost a tie. My favorite aspect of this episode was the that we got to see the impacts of the old Twilight's decisions along with her sudden move to Ponyville. I figured the show would never look back on that moment, yes, the Nightmare Moon aspect would be something that would be looked back on, but Twilight's life in Canterlot, no. So I was surprised and happy of course when this episode did it, and it did it quite well too. Besides that, the story of this episode was just really sweet and I loved getting to see Twilight's old friend group in action.

3. Hearthbreakers - As you all probably know by now, I'm a sucker for the tame but enjoyable slice of life episodes that FiM always provides for us. Honestly, this season did well in this episode genre at least, and I had a hard time picking for this last one. I just knew it had to be one of them. I'm not fully sure why I chose this one out of the many other nice little slice of life episodes we had this season, but I did. Perhaps it's because of the introduction to the rest of the Pie family, which was very enjoyable. Maybe it was simply the warming story and morals of traditions? Or since it's getting close to the Holidays, the spirit of the season could be pulling my vote. No matter what, even though I still don't understand the timing of this episode's release at all, it was very enjoyable, sweet, and fun, along with being just plain pleasing and relaxing.

So, those are my favorite episodes from this season. What were yours? I'm curious to know. Do we share any of the same, or do you disagree with my top picks completely? I'm pretty sure some of you are going to be pretty mad that I didn't include Crusaders of the Lost Mark and Slice of Life, aren't you?

I'm surprised 'Do Princesses Dream' isn't on your list. What'd you think of that one?

I loved the premise behind it, but I felt as though the amount of gags and fan-service contained within the episode really detracted from the well thought out plot that had been created for it. If the amount of gags had been toned down a bit, and there was more focus on the story itself, it most likely would have been on my list. I'm not saying keeping the show lighthearted is a bad thing, but I just felt like it was overdone in that particular episode.

I'm surprised 'Mane Attraction' isn't on your list. What'd you think of that one?

I liked the episode a lot. It had a good story and moral along with RaRa being a great character as well. I honestly think the only reason that this one didn't make it on my list is simply due to the fact that Hasbro hyped it so much. The same thing happened to me with the Weird Al episode. Considering how much they hype these sorts of things, I'm always expecting something really grand, and even though both of those episodes were good, the hype just killed them for me.

Ha, good thing I didn't expect that eps at all. I knew nothing about Lena Hall's pony blurt on awards night, nothing about the animatics of her song. Learned about all that after I watched the eps and was startled at how good it was.
