Had a couple ideas for new stories, let me know what you think if I should pursue them or not:
Idea 1: Applebloom wakes up Sweet Apple Acres, same as usual...except she claims its all wrong! She claims that she's learning magic under Twilight Sparkle, that Diamond Tiara lives in Sweet Apple Acres and even claims they're the bearers of the elements of harmony! What could have happened to make her act like this?
Idea 2: Spike and several other stallions have a secret: they are actually all mares who wielded the elements of harmony, but were forced to sue their power to alter the world completely so as to avoid an incredible catastrophe. But now Spike and the stallions remember their past lives... (incidentally, this idea was spawned from ANOTHER story idea where Spike uses a spell to become a mare to be Rarity's fashion model)
whatcha all think?
I'm going to have to go with idea 1. It jusr sounds better to me in general.
Both sound interesting, but I think I'd rather read 1.

thanks both of you, I was just askign for confirmation on whetehr or not I should give these a shot too XD but if you think they're worth it, I'll give them a shot.
Ooh, I think both are pretty neat ideas. The first seems like it could be taken in many directions (I would list off potential ideas but I wouldn't want to stifle your creativity ^^; ), and the second has an air of Sailor Moon to it XP
In fact, I spent the last half hour or so searching for something I remember reading once regarding a new 'uncensored' English dub of Sailor Moon. I think it's the idea of cosmic catastrophe and all that made me think of Sailor Moon XD (though keep in mind that I haven't watched/read it >.<) Now that I think about it, the 'magical girl' concept seems to fit pretty well within the MLP universe
What really interested me was that the part about their original identities reminded me of the characters mentioned at the bottom of that article: Sailor Starlights
