Story Ideas: The Emperor Strikes Back · 10:58pm Nov 30th, 2015
So I just pushed through the second chapter of ABitHiW2PiaB. There'll be two more chapters to it I believe, and that'll be the end of that saga. With that, however, four of the six story ideas from my last blog have been written or are being written, while Phantasmare will probably be my next FIMfic (once I find a muse/proofreader to bounce ideas off of), so a fresh round of new ideas.
Pipsqueak vs Flash Sentry
Flash Sentry hears tales out of Ponyville about a tiny colt with an adorable accent who not only managed to seduce all the fillies at his school, but also set-up a scenario where the eternally Markless CMC actually got their Cutie Marks. Rumour has it he even managed to charm a Princess!
Flash Sentry can't take it anymore. After all, no colt or stallion is allowed to muscle in on his waifu-stealing territory.
Sunset Shimmer Subverts Twilight from her Mission
I started a forum topic on this that goes into more depth. The basic gist is that when Twilight enters Canterlot High School, Sunset Shimmer confronts her and tries to convince her Celestia is a chessmaster manipulator, and that Sunset Shimmer only got out from under her grip by going to another world entirely. Sunset Shimmer then tries to convince Twilight to defy Celestia as well.
Something Something Starlight Glimmer
One of two possible ideas, I woudn't do both.
a) Twilight accidentally fatally maims Starlight Glimmer, who in her dying breath directs Twilight to Starlight's home. There, Twilight maybe talks to filly Starlight after Sunburst gets his Cutie Mark, and returns to a future where everything appears to be the same at first glance, outside of Our Town never being formed. Where did Starlight Glimmer go?
OR
b) What if Starlight Glimmer, instead of going on the whole idea of stopping the Sonic Rainboom, instead went back in time to her own self and 'merged' with her younger self, keeping all her memories?
Years later, when Nightmare Moon returns from the moon and threatens to plunge Equestria into eternal night, a mysterious unicorn shows up and defeats the tyrant usurper through pure, brute force.
Trixie One-Shot
Something something Trixie meets the Ursa Minor from Boast Busters and somehow makes friends with it. Because c'mon, is this not one of the cutest pictures you've ever seen?
All of those ideas sound fantastic. My only two cents is if you are going to have Starlight Glimmer change time for her own benefit, you should include some Starburst shipping in there.
3582880 See, there's a ton of nitpicks to be made about the season finale. One thing that bothers me is, if Starlight is apparently capable of flying under her own magic as well as fighting an alicorn to a standstill, how the heck did she not also go to Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns and reunite with Sunburst?
So possibly.
3583147 That is one of about 40 plotholes I see. Part of me seriously thinks the writers went out of their way to write an extremely complex finale that would inevitably be filled with plot holes and unexplained bits, to give the fans and fanfiction writers something to keep busy with during the hiatus.
I'd love to see the one with Starlight merging with her past self and then managing to beat Nightmare Moon. She'd steal Twilight and friend's destiny without destroying them in the process. Plus with all that future knowledge and magic training, she'd be able to match all of the villains (barring maybe Discord, he is immensely powerful and extremely unpredictable after all.)
Present Twilight would then be stuck in a present where she and her friends aren't necessary for the survival of Equestria, they're just some random mares living their random lives.
