So, the finale today... · 3:00am Nov 29th, 2015
That was quite the impressive display of edgy alt universe fanfic material turned (kinda?) canon. But let's be real here, there's no way they would've gotten away with any of that stuff having a lasting effect on the show. Following the Don Bluth method of ending a dark and edgy story on a happy note was the only way any of that stuff was going to be added to the show, but for the small amount of time it existed, it was quite a treat to watch.
No spoilers here in case you haven't watched it, but suffice to say there will be a massive outpouring of alt-universe fics coming in the near future as a result of this finale (shit got real bleak, dog). I have an idea for one myself, but I intend to finish up all of my current multi-chapter fics (sans Singularity) before I get started on it. All I will say is that it delves into the final scenario presented at the end of the finale's alt universe gauntlet, and will act as a semi-sequel to Malefic Bonds.
And that's all I've got to say for now. Props to the writers for having the balls to show half the stuff they did.
