GUTS IS FINALLY OFF THE GODDAMN BOAT · 8:51pm Nov 24th, 2015
I DON'T GIVE A RATS ASS IF YOU'RE A FAN OF BERSERK OR NOT, NIGGA. I'VE BEEN WAITING SEVEN LITERAL YEARS FOR THIS FUCKING MOMENT RIGHT THIS VERY GODDAMN SECOND JESUS CHRIST I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS, NOW THEY CAN GET TO THE ELF KING AND MAYBE CASCA WILL STOP BEING LITERALLY RETARDED HOLY JESUS HE WAS ON THE DAMN BOAT LONGER THAN THE MAIDEN VOYAGE TO THE NEW WORLD
I've been waiting for this for too long.
Having only seen the anime, I have no idea what you're talking about.
Having loved the anime, I am nonetheless excited to hear this.

Kentaro Miura is an artistic genius who does everything on the manga, from storyboarding, to backdrops, to character models, without an assistant. He's been drawing this series since the late 80's and has done nothing but improve. His artwork can range from the beautiful to the lovecraftian, and his writing is great to boot. He can rival every single one of the greats in the western comic book industry just due to how varied his artistic style can be.

Not to mention the story. There's a reason I've been waiting for it to come back for this long, and that's because Guts may be one of the most well-developed characters to exist in a series. He goes through so much character development it's crazy.
You should read it.

The manga was on a hiatus for almost seven years, with only like three chapters focusing on Griffith during those times, and nothing on Guts. They were on a boat for seven literal years until Miura actually updated their story just today.
If you liked the anime, read the manga, seriously. the anime only covers one arc in the past, whereas the series actually spends most of its time (at 6 arcs now, IIRC) in the present, with Guts fighting off Apostles and trying to help Casca return to sanity. The anime was great and had a memorable OST, but the manga is a whole different ballgame.
