Future thoughts regarding the Franceverse · 3:57pm Nov 13th, 2015
I know that ISOT stories are incredibly rare in Fimfiction, I also know that maybe i'm not the ideal choice when it comes to furthering ISOT stories and popularizing it in Fimfiction. But I do have future plans for the Franceverse and I wanted your opinion on it.
The story of Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité will be continued until the end of season 4, in it the Pony canon will obviously deviate as I will delve further and further into this new world and France's impact on it. France WILL become the dominant power in this world (more like a UK style superpower instead of a US style superpower) and France will also expand in this universe. This is set fact and i'm sorry but i'm not going to deviate from it.
But everything after the end of season 4 is free game. I have multiple ideas about how I should expand this universe but I cannot agree to anything at the moment. So here are my options regarding future arrangements for the Franceverse.
A black ops centric story focusing on the accounts of the French Commando Marines (an actual unit) in their secret deployments to eliminate 'enemies of the state' such as human supremacists, pony supremacists, Starlight Glimmer and so on. DO NOTE that if you wanted this story as your next story, updates will become slow as hell as I needed to focus on only a few POV's only and I wanted this story to have a more in depth look instead of the wider scope used in Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité. This story will focus more on the individual instead of the state.
A story focused on the adventures of the good carrier Charles de Gaulle and her battlegroup as they patrol the seas of France and investigate the ancient ruins of the Alicorn Empire in order to find the truth of Celestia's and Luna's ascention. This story will focus on the POV's of the French Carrier battlegroup, The minister of defence and the President of France as a new round of expeditionary missions on the seas just off the coast of the southern continent founds out an ancient tomb of the ancient and powerful Alicorn empire. Elements that WILL NOT be included in this story: Celestia and Luna being evil bastards, the French government suddenly becoming totalitarian evil as they knew about how magic originally worked, crewmembers in the battlegroup turning into traitors because 'they could not handle the truth' and any other trope associated with adventure stories like these. Updates will become slower but not as slow as the black ops story because I still have more POV's to cover.
A more lighthearted themed story about Rarity in Paris. Explore Rarity as she tries to sell her fashion designs in the city of love, gasp in shock as Rarity learned what modern fashion has become (sarcasm), and generally explore the depths of the personal life of Rarity as she tried to make it big in the city of love. Just like the first story updates will become slow as hell as I will try to make Rarity a unique character instead of just a piece in a cog.
And this is probably my favourite. At 19:00 hours central Equestrian time, French scientists in the newly rebuilt large hadron collider have discovered a way back home. Immediate preparations are made to make a portal and the French government has put in an expeditionary force to make contact with Earth once again, they enter a world that has been ravaged by nuclear devastation and war with what remains of Earth being a desolate wasteland with only isolated settlements, rudimentary republics and raider parties ravaging the remains of what used to be the homeworld of humanity. Set 50 years in the future, will include lasers, advanced technology, France kicking ass once more, and Magitech vs what remains of Earth's Futuretech. This story will be made with the standard ISOT format so updates will become regular once more.
So those are my thoughts guys, if you think you have any better ideas than comment below. Or you can just y'know.......tell me to finish the story first and worry about the future later.
do note that I will not be counting on popular vote on whether or not the black ops story or the carrier story will proceed. But I will see the arguments made for one story over the other.
