I Want To Make A Maid Cafe · 11:20pm Nov 11th, 2015
I have long term plans to make a fully functional maid and butler cafe in my local city. I really want to start one up but I'm kind of stuck on how to get started.
I guess it would be the same advice on how to start a regular cafe, except that I would need a stage so the maids could dance and sing and do their skits on it. Then I would need a gift shop area where people could buy maid cafe products and maybe treats.
And I'd have to come up with the menus, costumes for the maids, think of days of the week that would be cosplay days, think of menu items, etc. It would be a lot of work but it would be fun at the same time because it would be an excuse to cosplay every day and have a lot of fun. :)
I am thinking of starting small by hosting a maid cafe at the university or college anime clubs and the local comic book stores. If I can get enough people interested, I could make a website, a Facebook page, and branch out from there. We might even be able to do some conventions and such. But it probably best at any rate to start small and branch out from there.
If anyone happens to have any advice about where I could get started with this task. let me know. I am always happy to receive advice from my friends.

3537469 Start with a small business degree, I intend to start up something similar but its a micro-brew and small restaurant. Funny when I left catering I thought I would be done with that line of work.
3537688 I already have a degree (although it is in a different field, the same kind of things were taught to me in my undergraduate program and I took many business classes). The challenge is getting all of the permits, making all of the connections, getting the building, ordering the food, making a business plan, etc.

3537694 Well, sort of. This is all easier said than done. Everything costs money and I am but a starving writing, artist, musician, website developer, app developer type person, etc. :P So I might need to look into some business loans at some point down the road.

3538091 Ya they have, they could have watched The Outsiders that move was filmed here in Oklahoma, specifically in West Tulsa out by the Admiral Twins drive in theater. But I bet they watched Blazing Saddles far more, then again that is a very funny movie.
