So I've gotten into a new show recently.
Running from 2004 to 2006, W.I.T.C.H. was an adaptation of an obscure italian comic series. It only lasted two seasons, but both were great.
And season 2 episode 8 puts me about where Shining Armor is, emotionally:
Just as a heads-up.
But yeah, this is a good show. I highly recommend it.
I've got a friend who was really into WITCH when it was a thing. Of course, he was also into Winx Club at the same time, so I tend to get them confused. :B

I honestly don't know beyond "another cartoon about girls fighting evil". I think it's based on fairies? I couldn't tell you.
3532494 Huh, okay. *shrug*

Oooh, boy, don't even compare them, please. WITCH, while it was quite girly (well, made for girls, story from the point of view of girls, so I guess it makes sense) and approved by the Italian branch of Disney to ride on the success of "magic girls" media some years back, it was actually a decent comic with reasonable plots and at least some degree of character development. Let's say an "Italy makes magical girls for girls old enough to have a brain".
Winx, on the other hand...
God, that show was made PURELY to ride on magical girls hipe and such of elementary school children. One of the most commercial things I've ever seen, cheap animations made in flash with obviously copy-pasted effects and glitters animations all over the place as "magic" that looked ALWAYS out of place and character designs so... irreal it was like they had made the dolls first, and then characters based on them. Probably what really happened, actually.
"Italy Magical girls for girls so little they still have the brain of a fly."
Uh, that was probably the reason of all the sparkles and glitter. Bugs do tend to fly towards bright, shiny stuff.
Sorry for the rant. I'm just happy someone still remembers a somewhat good italian comic that made it out of this hole of a country, and seeing it compared to... THAT... THING ticked me off.

No worries; sounds like they're pretty different. In any case, I definitely enjoyed W.I.T.C.H., both the show and the comics.
