This episode you guys....was beyond far out into left field in what I did not expect0-0
I mean, the synopsis just told us that it was about the CMC helping out Pipsqueak (Yay Pipsqueak!) in becoming class president against Diamond Tiara. I was expecting the typical CMC being corrupted by power or corrupted by the desire of beating Diamond Tiara, but instead...we got one of the most surprising episodes of the entire series0-0! But surprising and mind blowing in a good way:D!
We got a musical episode like Pinkie Pride and Magical Mystery Cure (but it's a good musical episode like Pinkie Pride, not Magical Mystery Cure). The pacing for the episode was good, not as good as it was in Pinkie Pride. Some of the songs were amazing like Diamond Tiara's solo song (yes she sings in the episode! So much! It was amazing!) and the finale scene song (I'll get to this bad boy later;)) But some were unnecessary like the short song in the very beginning before the intro, but most of the songs were great and unnecessary:D Silver Spoon sings!:D OMG!
Not only does Pipsqueak become class president, but Silver Spoon breaks off her friendship with Diamond Tiara. We get the admirable and amazing CMC going to see if Diamond Tiara is alright and offer her friendship. We get to see Diamond's mom you guys, her mom0-0 Well, I guess all those fanfics about Filthy Rich being a single daddy were wrong you guys. No more shipping Filthy Rich with...well...anyone. As for her mom, dang dat nose of hers is ugly! But most importantly, she's ugly on the inside. Dang Filthy! How could you marry someone like that?! Who treats your daughter like this?! Filthy Rich is a decent guy yet he married this witch:/ Well, this could explain where Diamond gets her spoiled attitude in the first place but it also establishes her underlying character problems. Guys...we got a Diamond Tiara Redemption arc0-0 I never thought I would see the day when this happened. I never thought I would see the day where she becomes friends with the CMC and we see the true meaning of Diamond's cutie mark. She's not destined to be a spoiled brat or a model of the aristocracy, but to be an effective leader and organizer in group projects and activities:D After all those episodes seeing Diamond bossing ponies around, it all makes sense now. Like Trouble Shoes, she was interpreting her talent and purpose and life incorrectly. I'm loving this! And I wasn't even a Diamond Tiara fan in the first place! Overall, her redemption was handled pretty nicely. A little rushed, but still nicely done along with Sunset's and Discord's redemption.
Okay, here's the real big news guys...the CMC...got...their...CUTIE MARKS! ALL AT THE SAME TIME!
And their cutie marks mean that they are destined to help foals and adult ponies find their cutie marks and help them understand their cutie marks! Yet each cutie mark is still a little different from each other (it makes me wonder if they'll explore on this like Sweetie finally singing in front of ponies and performing or Scootaloo learning how to incorporate flying into her scooter routine. Things like that). Our CMC are not splitting up or going separate ways, they are open to more exciting and amazing adventures helping other ponies together:D They are almost becoming knights to Twilight's little friendship council like I predicated in my Season 5 premier review! I wanted them to get their cutie marks at least in this season's finale or the next season, but once again, the MLP staff did something I totally did not expect and made everyone's dreams come true. And combined Diamond Tiara's redemption arc with that too is just mind blowing!
But my favorite part was the finale song scene, oh my gosh, so many feels and so epic in so many ways.
First off, Applejack confirms to us that her parents are indeed dead and have pasted gone. This is not subtly implied, this is full on in your face you know it's true0-0! With tears from her and the Apple family, oh my gosh the staff actually confirmed it:0 Then we get more feels by having Rainbow Dash, Rarity, and Applejack singing to the CMC about how proud they are of them and their cutie marks<3
This is the best CMC episode to date. I can't wait for more CMC episodes to come, more friendship moments between them and Diamond, hoping for an episode about Diamond and Silver redeeming their friendship, and for the rest of Season 5 <3
I think I'll give this beauty 10 hearts out of 10 hearts, if I give it 9, there will be an angry mob after me. Hoped that you guys enjoyed this episode as much as I did.
PS I want the comics to Discord now emotionally handling that the CMC have cutie marks and that his role in the club is ending.
Yeah, i liked this episode as well. Not sure which one is better, this episode or the 100th episode. It's so hard to choose. But, let's see what next week holds.
