With the second LEGO Equestria Girls story now complete, I'm sure you're wondering what's next for the series.
I'll start off by saying that I have already watched Friendship Games. In fact, out of all three of the Equestria Girls movies, Friendship Games has definitely become my favorite, and I actually watched it numerous times over the past week since it's premier.
Even though I still plan to not start any writing for my third story until the start of next year, I'm already establishing my ideas on how it will go. As the past week progressed and I watched Friendship Games almost every day, I've been able to quickly adjust the ideas I already had into something that would fit more with the themes and characters seen in the movie. For example, my original plans had never even accounted for the main antagonist, Abacus Cinch, but I've now already figured out a major role for her in next year's story. Additionally, you can also expect to see the five Crystal Prep students throughout the story, though I'm sure you may have already figured out that they won't exactly be prep school students in this world. As for how the story will progress, I still need to think of some good reasons for why the team will be visiting certain regions (after all, I'd like to show off as much of this particular Lego World as possible), but there are significant portions that I'm already satisfied with what I've come up with and are unlikely to have many changes by the time I eventually get to writing those parts.
Just like last year, I also plan on writing a few short stories to fit in between the second and third major stories. However, there will be two major differences from how I did last year's short stories. The first is that I will not be putting them all out in a single week (that turned out to be way too exhausting), so instead I'll be publishing just one per week. The second is that I've had some difficulty coming up with ideas, so instead of seven stories like last year, I'll only have five of them this time. I will begin writing the first of them tomorrow, and you can expect to start seeing them published about a month from now.
Finally, I think I should mention that, at this time, chances are very likely that the next story, LEGO Equestria Girls 3, will be the last of the series. Keep in mind that "very likely" doesn't automatically mean "certain". It's still possible there could be even more to come (after all, a fourth Equestria Girls movie was just officially announced only yesterday), but since writing even a single fanfiction is so time-consuming for a slow writer such as myself, I'm starting to think that I might need to eventually stop at a certain point. I guess I won't know for sure until I finish the third story by approximately this time next year.
And that should cover just about everything of importance at this time. I hope everyone will be looking forward to next year's LEGO Equestria Girls story, because I certainly am.
