Why I Deleted Sunset Shimmer Has A Problem · 7:34pm Oct 3rd, 2015
Writing long blog posts on a phone stinks, but TL;DR: much as I like Sunset Shimmer, I'm not a fan of the series she's lashed to. So I'm just going through and removing stuff I've done that had anything to do with EqG, and then I'm silent on the topic forever more.
Much as I dislike the series and think it's insulting to its target audience, there are a great number of you out there who appreciate the series for various reasons, chief among them that you enjoy it. That's not my place to tell you you're wrong, because you're absolutely right on matters that come down to yourselves. So enjoy the 4th movie they're coming out with!
If y'all wanted to know what I was planning with the story, I'll be happy to answer those questions in the meantime, though.
Cheers,
Couch
... well, that WAS on my reading list for this weekend, Couchie... but I understand why you did it.
Consider me interested for what you were planning, at least!
That makes me so sad ;_; And your other stories are all cancelled, too.
Well, I do care what you had in mind, at least.
CC. Stop writing it if you wish, but don't delete a story.
3440977 The plan for the last chapter would've had Pinkie and Sunset pulling into Ponyville for that year's National Dessert Competition, which I never even hinted at setting up in the previous chapters. The rest of the mane cast minus Twilight and Spike greet them there, Sunset has that weird moment of "they're not my friends, but they're my friends", whatever.
They get set up and this year they're all on a team vying to create the best desserts on the spot. So everyone goes hammer and tongs with it, but it's been over two years since EQG: Original Recipe, and the mane cast has grown apart in that time what with Twilight becoming more preoccupied with Princess business. Predictably, their teamwork breaks down, and Sunset finds herself realizing that while these versions of her friends went their separate ways and gained standing in their careers (AJ travelling more for Sweet Apple Acres biz, RD with the 'Bolts, etc.), her friends all went to the same community college and remained close-knit. So Sunset brings this up, and it's enough to refocus the group as they admit they weren't the same friends they were in the past.
They rally enough to win third place. And then Sunset gets an unexpected moment of closure with Princess Celestia, who dropped by the competition unannounced, and lets sunset know where the mirror had been moved to. But Pinkie manages to get Sunset to stay longer, and it's only after Pinkie falls asleep on her while the two are in Sugarcube Corner does Sunset slip out and return to the mirror.
She meets up with Twilight who's just returning from Pedestria, and she gets asked whether she plans on going back, since there's a place for Sunset in Equestria. Sunset confirms she's returning, and Twilight leaves, but Sunset pauses after her first step towards the mirror.
Epilogue: PInkie shows up at the rock farm with Twilight... as her special somepony. Turns out Sunset had talked Pinkie through some long-suppressed emotions regarding that particular book horse.

Sounded like an interesting story, but I know how it goes.
