    Hoennshy at an end.

This may come as out of left-field for all of you, but I can't see how I could continue on with Hoennshy, especially with its current incarnation and beastly length.

    Happy New Year!

Happy 2013, everyone! I want to get this out of the way before my drunken haze sets in. I hope everyone has a great night to celebrate the new year, and don't tell anyone your resolutions or else you might never do them! It's true! I read it on the internet!

Have a safe time, and I'll see everyone tomorrow for when Hoennshy updates for the first time in almost six months!

    Peace!

    The Final Hiatus Update Blog

January 1st is fast approaching. 12 days, if the world doesn't end in a fiery inferno, until the Hoennshy hiatus is over and it begins regular updates once again. All of the rewrites are complete. Formatting is done. All the remaining edits to earlier chapters are finished and ready to publish.

All that remains is the 13,000 word monstrosity that is chapter 16.

    A little change in pace.

Fan fiction is a strange, and sometimes wondrous being. One day it could be the thing that consumes your thoughts, then the other can be a mere ghost that haunts you for negligence. It has its advantages and its disadvantages, but its main purpose is to be entertaining and most importantly fun for the author. This is where my old plan dies.

The League of Extraordinary Gentlecolts · 12:47am Aug 8th, 2012

Good day readers of FiMFiction.net. If you have been to the front page of the site recently, you will no doubtedly be aware that I and several other authors, both well known and unknown, performed an experiment that the community had never seen the likes of before. We dropped teasers the day before to get the community on edge and confused before we struck hard. I am a part of The League of Extrodinary Gentlecolts.

For reasons unbeknownst to myself, I was chosen to be part of this experiment. We were paired up for the project; one relatively unknown writer that showed potential, and one that was firmly established into the Friendship is Magic fiction community. I, only having 68 watchers at the time, fit squarely in the lower ranks to be paired with someone whose stories were much more well known than mine.

I was paired with Ciroton, the author of well known stories as Sunset, and the recently finished story For Want of a Dawn.

If you haven’t read any of his works or even don’t know about him, I would suggest you go check his stuff out. Most of his stories are contained in an alternate pony universe, giving all of his stories a cohesive feel as you go from one to the next. I seriously hope you give his works a shot.

All together, we had a little under a month to come up with a story idea using a similar prompt, and write a one shot story within the time frame. The prompt that Ciroton and I came up with was horror, whether it be traditional creature horror or psychological thrilling horror. With the prompt in place, we both set off to write the scariest, most mind bending stories that we could muster without resorting to the gore filled attempts at “horror” that plagued the community since Cupcakes was released. The twist was that I had to post Ciroton’s story in the place of my own, while he did the same for mine. With that in place we got to work.

In three weeks we both finished our stories, ready to show them to the world. I wrote the traditional creature horror story The Cellar, and Ciroton wrote the surprisingly, or unsurprisingly, ignored psychological thriller Shadow Over Ponyville. We posted them and watched for the fall out, with our fics being the most ignored set of the group.

It was surprising for sure as this was the first story I’ve written for the fandom outside of Hoennshy, and Ciroton being hot off of the final chapter of For Want of Dawn. Because this was an experiment, I took small chunks of information from this which I will share with you. You all really like Hoennshy, making it a veritable black hole of attention when other stories are released. Granted neither story has been featured on Equestria Daily (yet), but I thought it would gain more of a readership as a break from the usual Pokémon fare. I’m not disappointed with this fact, only surprised and astonished. You guys sure do love your Pokémon. I would have been able to learn things about my writing style if anyone had noticed a difference between Ciroton’s and mine, but unfortunately not enough people read it to give any sort of feedback. It was a little crushing, but I do very much appreciate your readership regardless.

All in all, this experiment allowed me to do what I’ve never done: write a horror story and write a one shot. The experience was one of the most fun and stressful things I’ve done as a writer, and I can’t wait to see what we do in the future. To say that this gave me a second lease on excitement for writing would be an understatement, and I’m so happy that everyone was so patient with me as I delved into this crazy group of talented and skillful writers and spoke with and got to know them over the past month.

Thank you all for reading this and thank you for your support of me and my crazy stories and projects. If anyone is in anyway hurt by this and the deceit I had to pull to allow this to work, I apologize. I hope you all find all of the stories that were made under the emblem to be enjoyable, no matter the author who wrote it.

To those who wish to read my contribution to the group, please be aware that it is in a very rough state due to lack of time to fully edit it. It was a very long story, and chapters that large in Hoennshy usually take weeks to pre read and edit before they are ready for viewing. I will be working on it once Hoennshy has been updated, so please watch for it if you get the chance. I’m very proud of this story and what I, and we as a group, were able to accomplish. It would mean the world to me.

Until we speak again,

Fenix

Sorry buddy, but horror's just not my thing. ... Really, like, I only ever watched The Ring, and that was with my eyes closed and ears covered half the time, and I wish I hadn't seen that much. :fluttercry: lol Maybe when you say horror, you mean something else, but that's what I think of. dl.dropbox.com/u/31471793/FiMFiction/emoticons/shrug_Derpy_Hooves.png

EDIT - Btw, the notification links for you have been messed up for you (and just you) lately. I got a blank page when I clicked it. If it seems like you have fewer comments lately, that mightt have somwthing to with it

That's strange. Maybe that's why no one looked at Ciroton's story? Then how did people respond to my earlier blog post so quickly? Did I feel terrible yesterday for nothing?

I'll go talk to D about it.
