The Final Hiatus Update Blog · 11:12pm Dec 19th, 2012
January 1st is fast approaching. 12 days, if the world doesn't end in a fiery inferno, until the Hoennshy hiatus is over and it begins regular updates once again. All of the rewrites are complete. Formatting is done. All the remaining edits to earlier chapters are finished and ready to publish.
All that remains is the 13,000 word monstrosity that is chapter 16.
Disregarding that for a moment, I hope everyone gets a chance to reread all of the old chapters as quite a few small things have changed, plus they are far easier to read. Things have been fixed (pokémons' species names being lower case and the word "pokémon" itself), its own narrative logic has been retuned, and it just looks a whole lot fancier (especially the Google Docs version). Chapter one has been completely rewritten as well as Twilight's parts in chapter 2; I think they're much stronger than their year-and-a-half old predecessors, and I hope you enjoy them once the first of January comes.
Major Spike (and soon to be Blackwing) chapters have been disconnected from their parent chapters so there aren't as many instances of major point-of-view switching happening in chapters. This will also make updating faster with mini-chapters that are important enough to warrant their own space and title in the narrative.
I'm hoping this hiatus didn't scare off too many readers, and I hope you enjoy the story going forward. I'm starting school again in February, but I'm sure I'll find time to write chapters between my obligations. Sorry if this was a little short, but I'm exhausted from all of these rewrites and edits from the past three months.
Later!
Huzzah for long chapters!
Glad to hear that this is finally back on track.
Thank goodness the fic's still going.
Sweet. I finally cleared out my "updated stories" list, and now I need something to fill it back up. Hoennshy sounds perfect.
