    The Stories

This is a basic run down of the stories I was writing but had never completed and my plans for them before they were cancelled. This is more for me than it is for you. I'll start with the earliest ones and go forward from there.

    Pony Island

    To anyone who still cares

    Well... hello.

I've been home from my mission for about fifteen months now. It's been fun. Got a girlfriend. Lost a girlfriend. You know. The usual. I've also been catching up on the show and playing tons of videogames. Currently playing Control, Return of the Obra Dinn, and Animal Crossing, New Horizons.

5 of the Worst Stories I've Written · 2:41am Sep 14th, 2015

If you thought I was going to talk about why I wanted to do this, then you were mistaken. I'm just doing it because I darn well feel like it.

One thing about this list, this is going to be based on what I personally think of the story. It's not going to be the stories that got the worst reception. Four out of five of these don't even have that many dislikes. They were all met with positivity, but that's their opinion. This is mine. Also, this is going to be in no particular order. They're numbered, but that doesn't mean anything.

I'm also going to derive some kind of lesson that I can learn from these stories. So that I can learn not to do something like that again.

Number 5: Krazy Kookie Klub (KKK)

This story is the third story in the Omnomnipotent series that I wrote with my friend Doomius Trotious. This story came almost immediately after the second. The idea for this story came in the middle of production on the second, and we had literally nowhere for this train wreck to go. The first one was created when I thought of the word Omnomnipotent, and written in under an hour. It was really funny at the time, and we're still pretty proud of it. I am least, not too sure about Darn Trucks. The second story was, to Domo Trom, the best one of the series. We thought it was funnier, and it was more fun to write. The third, however, felt like we had to do something more with the series. I thought it would be funny, but Dooom Dooom didn't even want his name on it. As a result, it was less funny and more offensive than I thought it was going to be.

The lesson here is to be careful where I tread. Because of my incompetence, I created a story that wasn't very funny, and was a little offensive. This was the story that killed the Omnomnipotent series. And that wasn't very nice.

Number 4: His Last Wish

His Last Wish had a lot of things wrong with it. For one, this had very little to do with MLP. The basic gist of the story is that a dude is almost killed trying to get into Equestria, and has to live the rest of his days in the Make a Wish foundation, trying to get the ponies to talk to him. However, the first chapter was about the guy meeting the Annoying Orange. Ponies weren't necessarily involved, mind a few references to them.

The second thing is that this was basically a self-insert. I wrote this shoving in a bunch of cartoons and TV shows that I like, and making the characters (that aren't even that well developed) meet them and have a little fun with them. This was what I wanted to happen to me, and I wrote it in the way I wanted it to happen. It wasn't interesting, there was no mane 6 that the main character could talk to, and there wasn't going to be. It had little to do with MLP, and for that I'm sorry.

The lesson to learn here is to write something that will interest others, and not just yourself.

Number 3: One that can Replace Me

Most of the reason that this one is up there is because of how badly written it is. And this was also a story that was created in my infancy as a fanfiction writer, and a writer in general. So my writing was guaranteed to be pretty bad. But the problem here is that I didn't edit this story when I completed the chapter. I just threw up my hands and called it good. And then I never went back to edit it and improve it. This story was originally going to be multiple chapters, but the guy I was supposed write it with disappeared off the face of the earth. And after the first chapter, I didn't know where else to take the story, so I just gave up there.

The lesson here is to always go back and improve your stories. Don't change the continuity, just go back and fix your spelling mistakes, and rewrite sentences to not be so cringey.

Number 2: The Chariot Took Her Home.

This story shares the same problem as One that can Replace Me, in that I need to go back and edit it. There was also the problem that I didn't do enough research, re-wrote the characters written in the story a little better, and I threw in some fandom references that really didn't need to be in there. These were all points brought up by PresentPerfect's review of my story, and I'm really glad he brought them up. I'll try to stick to what I know to do, and that's make some mediocre stories about an OC and comedy that's slightly funny.

The lesson here is the same as the last. Edit your stories before you throw them out into the world.

Number 1: Adogeio 3: Aria Sick of it Yet? lll

This story is in here because it's the story that I rushed out. The Adogeio series are the stories that I had the most fun writing and generated the most success (for all of the wrong reasons). I wasn't expecting the success of these stories, and I was pleasantly pleased of what I created. I made some people laugh, and that's the main thing I'm proud of. I made some people laugh. The second one is the story that I deem one of the best stories I've written. I had the most fun writing that one, and it was one of my well-written stories. Probably. Nobody really said anything about my writing skills. Nobody complained either, so they're probably somewhat good.

By the time the third was coming out, I played a joke by releasing what is regarded (by a guy who happens to be my best friend), as the best story I've written instead of the actual third story. And then after that, I had to write the third story that I was determined to be the best one.

Guess what happened, it wasn't.

I got writers block at that point, and I had to halt the story for some amount of time. And because I did that, the quality dropped thirty or forty percent. There wasn't a single joke I remember from Aria Sick of it Yet?, and yet there are many that I remember from Adogeio and Sacrosanct. There was also the problem that I rushed this out as quick as I could. I should have waited for my writers block to let me go so that I could make sure that this story was the best story I've ever written instead of being like, "They want it, gotta make this soon!" I also shouldn't have forced myself to write this. The other two stories were fun and basically like eating candy. They were done quick, and it was pretty delicious. For the third, I should have thought of a way to make it fun instead of another chapter to a boring story to write (cough cough, What We've Done, Take the Pain Away, Lust for Power, Pony Island, Staying for the Night (Except Staying for the Night it was one of the better stories I've written)).

I really want to rewrite Aria Sick of it Yet? because not only was everyone disappointed with it, but I was disappointed with it. So if you think I should rewrite Aria Sick of it yet?, then please let me know.

So there you have it. My worst stories. They have taught me a lesson that I will not soon forget.

Also, I want to talk about something concerning Staying for the Night. I know I said that I would focus on that story for a while, but I want to make sure that my writing ability is top notch. This previous summer, I worked, which caused me to lose a lot of creativity. I'm getting back into it, but I want to make sure that my writing skills are coming back as well. So what I'm going to do is write a quick one-shot. If I'm happy with the way it turned out, and people enjoyed it, then I know I'm back in the game. Because that's my main goal here. I want to entertain people. I want make somebody laugh, make somebody smile, or have a good time reading my stuff. And that can't happen if I'm not giving it my all.

Now, school is going to get in the way of that. But when I have the time and my creative juices are flowing, I'm going to write to my hearts content. That one-shot will hopefully come out soon. After that, if the story does well with both me and the people that read it, then everything else will resume as normal.

I love you all, have a nice day.

Your thoughts here, much like a calm pond, show some serious depth and allow for reflection. Kudos to you. Best of luck with the one-shot and unblocking your chi writer's block.
