Art Contest: Results

Okay, so the time has come to announce a winner for my art contest. I've already shown you all the entries — there were a lot. I loved every entry, but I had to narrow it down to a "short list" of the five entries which really caught my attention.

But before I come to them, here's one entry which deserves a special mention!

The Short List

The scoring system I've chosen is to award points out of 50 for artistry and cuteness, and then add on bonus points,

This picture was one of the first entries I received, and I squeed so much when I saw it. tacoprincess gets all the bonus points. I'm sure she'd admit that her pony pictures aren't as good as her humans, and there are a few clear mistakes in the picture, such as two ponies missing their cutie marks, and Lyra's tail not being fully coloured in. But it's pretty cute, and as I said, so many bonus points.

This is undeniably the cutest picture shortlisted. Aged down Vital Sparkle. And that face!

Sleepy Panda

I know Panda spent a long time on this, and it shows. Vital Sparkle is looking pretty alluring on that sofa.

HeartsCharm is a pretty amazing DeviantArt artist. The character design on this is beautiful, and the colouring, shading, and shines added are close enough to pefect.

This is another one that I know the artist put a lot of effort into. So many details in this that I would have given bonus points to if only I'd thought of them when I wrote the rules.

I feel almost bad that I made the only joke entry in a contest full of actually really good art. I think my vote would have gone to Lime Overtime. That pic is so darn adorable. ^^
