Hello Everyone. My new story, Remembrance of Thy King, is officially out. This story is a world building back story surrounding Princess Celestia's and Princess Luna's father and uncle. How they shaped their nation, how they came to be, and to their eventual deaths. So first off, let me delve into the history a little bit.
I always envisioned a father and uncle, both brothers, ruling the early years of Equestria. The two would be inseparable and consider each other brothers for the deeds they have done together. I wanted to focus on the details that showed how they came to be and where they all stood in the founding of Equestria. I wanted to create a homely feel story, something that people can relate to on an emotional level. Their passing, would help Celestia and Luna onto a greater mission to spread pace and harmony throughout their nation. However, it is the story of their legend that sets them apart.
The video in the story from the movie, First Knight, was the inspiration for the whole funeral at sea. I found the ideas of Arthurian legends and settings to help shape the story as it is and to help create this past story. From the naming of the mountain and the lake, it felt a perfect setting with the history of the Arthurian legends. In the video, we see the knights and soldiers all raising their blades, a sendoff to their fallen king. This emotion I tried my best to capture in my story and I hoped that it touched those who read the passing.
The second video, featuring GoT,( Game of Thrones) was the icing on the cake to help settle this story. Using a modern fantasy song and mixing it with an older story telling legend, helps it blend into a unique story that it is. I created the lyrics and help shape the emotion and feeling that Princess Luna was portraying and I believed I did her justice with how this tragedy helped set her apart from her sister.
The addition of using other characters, including Queen Amore, helped set the things off to what eventually leads to the current story line. I did what I believe was right in helping creating and define the different characters and the different stories that each portrayed. I wanted to make that feeling of connection strong with all of this and I believed I hit it on the mark.
Finally the perspective of the guard, LT Quiver. I wanted to focus on an outsiders perspective. I know the lack of dialogue was missing but I thought it be best to view through the eyes of the guard and how he see it. Quiver is viewing things as he sees them, in a way, putting the reader in his shoes and seeing everything happening through his perspective. I hoped that by doing this it will give something interesting to make the story stand out more.
Well that is everything I have on the story. I hoped you all enjoyed it as I have in making this story. Thanks again for being with me through this story and I will talk to you all again soon.
