Some Apotheverse thoughts · 10:14pm Sep 8th, 2015
Stuff I plan to do eventually (after I finish this original fic)
Chiaroscuro: Queen Chrysalis and the fate of the changelings. Probably just a <10k word oneshot or coda.
Tenebrism: Far-future, scifi-themed Apotheverse oneshot or coda.
Stuff I'd like to do at some point
Lost Cities of the Apotheverse. There's a few possibilities here - Tozo's desert, the mušḫuššu city, the Island, Cantrot.
Bits and pieces that are probably interesting, maybe someone else wants to tackle them
The world was broken after Discord's reign - literally, magically, and metaphysically. The gods spent centuries putting things back together and taking care of all the monsters that arose during that period, due to the direct or indirect actions of Discord.
At some point Zecora threw down with Celestia. One of her titles is Suncatcher.
At some point Scar threw down with Celestia. That's how he got the scar.
The other races surely have gods, even though clearly none of them are willing or able (remember that gods have...limited choices) to go up against the Pony gods. Or did, and failed.
Surely Discord has a...rather unique perspective on current events, given that his origin is fully Lovecraftian - an eldrich horror from someplace else entirely. But of course, now he's been leashed.
It's been a very, very long time since a single sentence intrigued me so. I think the last one was, "The man in black fled across the desert, and the gunslinger followed."
3379061 And those were arc words, were they not?
3379061
Same here. That's certainly not one of the explanations for her cutie mark that I had considered.
3379107 Kind of. Maybe. It's been too long since I've read The Gunslinger to remember if the sentence appears after the opening line, but I do know it's the first and very last line in the entire Dark Tower series.
So maybe a very, very long arc.
All of these sound very intriguing. :D
Some fascinating ideas. :) You've got a lot of expanse in the Apotheverse that is as-yet unexplored! I'd love to read more.
Yeah, I'm buying into these ideas.
